As mentioned by others above, while I applaud the expansion of IniBuilds, and I am really pleased they are doing well, they do need to look at optimisation rather than just churning stuff out.
We know they can do it.  The performance of the A300 in the sim is better than I expected it to be, and more than reasonable.  I think they have done exceptionally well on that considering where they have come from in such little time.

I only wish MS would send them a bit more money to optimise the A310 and bring it up to the same standard.

We also have their A320Neo making a re-appearance in the sim soon (SU15), so that would be good to see.

I know we have an abundance of Airbusses in the sim (with A380's coming as well), but the two I really want to see aren't currently catered for - A321Neo/XLR, and the A220.
It would be good if IniBuilds could do a bit of work to develop their A320Neo to the A321Neo afterwards, even if it is a paid product rather than the free one in the sim.
And charging a 'supplement' price for upgrading the A310 to the current A300 standard could be a viable option if MS aren't interested in paying for it.  I would pay say £10-£15 for it, and would be glad to see it.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

One of the higher up’s at iniBuilds said in Discord a month or so ago now that they will not be doing KATL (or KMIA) due to the ortho in the area. I can see MIA but am baffled by their stance on KATL. The city is far enough to the north so not sure why they said that and tbh, it stinks to high heaven that a few years into MSFS and all we have is that junk from Imaginesim or the default. I actively avoid KATL even though it’s one of my favorites due to nothingburger scenery for it.

yeah we need a really good atlanta.  at some point developers are going to run out of airports.  Especially the big ones. Eventually they will either need to do the ones not done, or decide to redo payware airports they think they can do better than we have today.

IniBuilds Heathrow airport addon runs surprisingly well on my PC. Whilst I do not have AI planes enabled at the moment, I was still expecting a rather stuttery experience after all of the comments about poor optimisation. All of my settings are on HIGH, with 16x anisotropic filtering, 1920x1080 resolution @ 1.3x DSR and TAA, Terrain/Object Detail settings @ 225/125, all shadows/reflections/effects enabled, and static planes @ 50%. It is also worth noting that I have ORBx London landmarks, UK2000 EGLC London City, and Burning Blue Design EGLF Farnborough active in the same general area, together with We Love VFR and Solar Farms/powerlines freeware enabled.

Forget all the “we need” I need them to optimize their airports they've already published. Take the JFK version. Compared to the Drzweicki EWR airport I get. 30% decrease in performance. Compared to other major hubs such as LatinVFR Miami its the same performance drop and stuttering mess.

This is on a RTX4080 with FG and a AMD7900X3D.

There is lots of talk about iniBuilds airports being badly optimized. In my opinion, they are not as bad as the negative opinions lead the uninitiated to believe. Now, I know I have a powerful rig, so that is a big reason why iniBuilds airports to include KJFK and EGLL work great for me. But, even though I have a 7800X3D and a 4090, I still don't have all my settings jammed to ultra. I take great care in building my system to keep temps way down, so that my CPU and GPU can run at high power without issue. Also, the majority of my MSFS settings are on HIGH. I do run at 4K and I primarily fly the Fenix A320 and the PMDG 737. I use FSTraffic from Just Flight, with a decent amount of AI aircraft, but not too many. I DO spend time in the iniBuilds individual airport settings turning on and off various extras until I found a good balance. I also use GSX, and make sure I don't have all the extra clutter turned on.

To summarize, with a strong system and some patience testing various settings, the heavy iniBuilds airports will work really well in MSFS, in 4K. I have a hard time calling them poorly optimized. It's 2024, and there are powerful enough computer components that have been available for over a year now that can run them just fine. And that is no different then it has ever been when it comes to flight sims on PC's. 🙂

Again, all just my opinion, but I wanted to put out some positive vibes to go with all the negative opinions.

It works great considering I also throw the proverbial kitchen sink at my PC to handle. AI traffic is the big FPS eater for me, so I have to limit AI to 50 or so aircraft. That said, the DynamicLOD mod has made a stable 30 FPS locked possible once again.

They take two or three attempts, yet they seem to get performance acceptable in the end. Their KJFK was truly awful at v1.0, but the next point release was like night and day (until SU14 dropped performance everywhere for me).

They are not in my top 5 scenery developers, however I much prefer that I have their EGLL rather than one by Sim-Wings, for example.

The KLAX scenery performance left a bad taste in my mouth, I've refrained from buying anything else for now.

The frustration comes from it only being certain areas with the bad performance drops that we know can certainly be worked on and improved for better optimization.

They also said in their discord that they wouldn’t do a Dubai either…. Just sayin.

True but the fact that they specifically mentioned a reason for it means they likely started internal discussions, reviewed sim data and chose to not do it tells me it’s a legit comment.

Context people… what they said was their next project to release wasn’t OMDB, which was true, it was Dubai Landmarks.

Fascinating how they started from doing GSX profiles back in P3D to do this. Achievements at its best

It definitely seems that iniBuilds is one of the largest 3rd party developer companies for the home market flight simulation market. I believe PMDG also hired more staff during MSFS and if my memory is correct, Fenix hired more staff after the release of their A320.  Looks like the money the top 3rd party developers are making from MSFS is paying off, leading them to hire more people.

iniBuilds in particular seems to be very fast at completing their projects. Assuming their A320 comes out for Sim Update 15, iniBuilds has completed 3 major airliners for MSFS in the last two years: the A310, A300, and A320.  This doesn't even include the Antonov, or other planes that iniBuilds have released for MSFS.

I got the bad taste after San Antonio. They took a small airport and somehow released a 6GB scenery because every texture was 4k or 8k. Level of hubris there is just a little extreme. Yeah don't worry, I don't need my sim or computer to do anything except render your absurdly high res interior terminal textures.

Paint her right! LH Cargo!

😋 Thx

You know LH is always on my list. 😉  And not just because you request it.... rather its in the top 5 of my favorite liveries. 🙂

But expect LH Old colors from me on any airframe that flies it.....not a fan (yet) of the new livery.  I miss the yellow. 😞

Unfortunately I experienced the same at JFK.  PSP is a bit better but stutters a bit with AI.  RTX4080 and 12700K.
