The Right Time For FSX?

Recommended Posts

I have the X1900XT, and believe you will be hard pressed to get that, or the X1950 for less than what the 8800GT are going for. Whatever, don't buy anything today that does not have 512 MB on it.Again, don't get so fixated on frame rates, the smoothness and being able to manage the 'blurries' are more important to a pleasing experiance. IMO, the 'blurries' do take some 'horspower' in the form of a more powerful Core 2 Duo, (or Quad), as much, if not more than the video card. As always, the processor is still really 'the king' in FS, as long as you have a pretty decent video card. No video card will make-up for a less than adequate processor.

Agreeing with the other poster... the video card is not the determining factor, the processor is.I can get a steady 25 fps locked over NYC on a Q6600 with a "budget high end card", an 8600GTS 256 MB...Certainly, today I would have bought an 8800GT with 512 MB, but you can get great performance without.. : - )
