January 23, 20242 yr It's a very efficient effect, much more than I expected. I haven't tried it but the video is pretty convincing. Doesn't it produce any repetitive pattern on the ground in a distance ?

As I understand it, it works everywhere where you have orthophotos - independent if it is in cities or outside. 6 hours ago, Daube said: Doesn't it produce any repetitive pattern on the ground in a distance ? Again 😉 as I understand it - no. Only if the orthos were completely uniform in a large area and/or in the distance (what the they aren't) it might happen. January 23, 20242 yr This would finally make the EOX orthos viable as, unlike their high resolution counterparts, they are color matched, cloudless and liberally licensed. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
January 23, 20242 yr Commercial Member This is absolutely great for airliner flyers, where ZL14 is a great and logical choice. Although I would do ZL16 zones around every bigger airport, maybe even 10kms. I will also try this decal with AO at ZL16. There is a simple way of editing DCL file and add downloaded texture as default, it will be showed everywhere. Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

Only tested it on a few tiles, but EOX/Sentinel is indeed a viable option now. With around 400 MB or less per tile, getting true global coverage on a single 2 TB SSD could just work. Make sure to edit the EOX provider file to obtain the latest datasets as per: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/182643-new-2018-eox-imagery-ortho4xp-2-questions/&do=findComment&comment=2665196 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
