what needs to be fixed to make it look "prettier"??

I was wondering what you guys think needs to be fixed to make the sim look prettier. I am all about the scenery. Specifically stuff close to the ground and of course the ground itself. In my opinion I think that the ground textures are the problem with the scenery. Everything close to the ground (at or below 100 feet) is problem some. It doesn't do justice for the autogen buildings that are being used for some cities. Miami for example the buildings aren't so bad but the land around it is just so flat. I think they really need to work on autogen trees and other items. The roads for example are pretty awful. Just a thick flat grey line running across a flattened terrain. And then you have 800 ft high rise buildings popping out. The buildings themselves are actually better then I thought they were. What was making them look bad to me was the ground scenery. They wouldn't fit with the ground. They wouldn't blend with the ground. They just pop out at you. I really hope they do something with the ground somehow some way. We definetley need more detail on the ground. I know it's a hardware issue right now but I think there is more to it. I think we could use a better engine. And I think we could use much greater detail for the ground. More stuff like different types of trees in one landclass, different shapes and sizes of trees (this could all be processed randomly) just WAYYYYY more variety. How about some telephone poles. Some more 3d objects coming out of the ground that are less then say 50 feet high. Something to bring the ground alive. I don't enjoy flying over a two dimensional ground. I am flying over a picture with 3d buildings generic 3d houses and generic 3d trees popping out of it.

Add big roadside billboards featuring Ali Landry and Marisa Tomei!!!!Seriously, go taxi through the crowd at Reno Stead in the Accelleration package and all the people are, like, DUDES. We need some real sugar....someone needs to at least work on a Malibu Beach Babe Scenery Project...the download count would be amazing!!!

Have you ever been to an air show? It's true, all the people really are dudes!Well, that's not totally true. But, sadly, for the most part it is.I suppose we could all dream!Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180

To fix the current system, what I'd like to see is, in order of priority:1. Redo the non-summer textures and add some color to them. That sand is awful, awful, awful. (I assume what happened was they blew their budget on the summer textures and didn't have time to do the rest of the seasons properly. This is fixable by the community.)2. Fix the autogen popping so it appears smoothly again. (Unfortunately, this is a function of the program I believe, so we may have to wait till FS11. Good thing is, I hear they did fix this to some extent in Acceleration. I haven't loaded it on a good machine yet to test it.)3. Allow a larger radius of autogen. (Again, a function of the program. Given that they designed the system for expandability when we get faster machines, I'm not sure why the restricted the max radius to such a small value (6.5 I think is the max (?)). I assume it had to do with the amount of available video memory and being 32 bit. Maybe FS11 will have a 64 bit mode so we can do away with this limitation?)4. Allow seasonal textures for autogen buildings again. (Again, I suppose we'll have to wait for FS11, unless somebody figures out some sort of trickery. I suppose worst case, you could do an across the board texture switch before flight, or create a program that detects the date you are starting and loads the correct textures before flight based on the date.)5. Write a program that loads professional team schedules, and turns on/off the stadium lights appropriately based on the date and time. Maybe even add some ball players to the field during games? This could get as popular and varied as AI planes are today.6. Create AI ski slopes with snow trails and people skiing down and lights at night. Actually, stay tuned on this one.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180

If you have Out Of The Park Baseball, Peter Dowson should work on a way to have FSUIPC connect OOTPB with FSX so that the baseball players actually play out real games. Okay, I started out this post in facetious mode, but now that I look back on that, I think I would pay money to see that. Not a lot of money, but still...Jeff ShylukAssistant Managing EditorSenior Staff ReviewerAVSIM

It doesn't have to be just baseball, you could hook in Madden football or FIFA Soccer, your local hurling schedule, whatever. It started with Flight Sim, now they've got Train Sim, next your local sporting events schedule, it just keeps growing! :-)Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180

(Not that they haven't already done a great job here, but there's always room for improvement).Imagine what TileProxy would be like if it didn't have to fake up a filesystem driver and resort to an obsolete texture loading system.Colin

Some people who have the "blurries" and are not aware of it, complain about what you are complaining about. With Blurries the Autogen look very odd too. So do you think you might have the dreaded blurries?

Nope, I don't have the blurries. I definately have a lower radius of autogen than I would like (more than I had in FS9), and the autogen "pop" is a known issue working as designed. I'm not necessarily complaining as much as saying this is a feature I would like changed in the future.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180

You could glide past a game and hear the roar of the crowd, maybe even have them do a random wave! And you thought the occasional random flock of birds was cool. How about a homerun ball through your windshield (that'll teach you)? Would make a cool mission for a blimp. You could practice doing a television feed from the blimp. Then you have to create a pack for doing this multiplayer with different cameras, with a producer controlling the cameras. Hmmm. You could even make some security missions or something. Or maybe an angel flight for an injured player.ADHD or what?Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180
