A warm welcome to Avsim, Mr. Petrovich! Like  @lwt1971 I am really looking forward to your insights once you are cleared to speak to us. I will say, as someone who has been a gamer for the better part of 30 years and never missed an E3, that the hot air balloon demo shown at the last FSExpo was the coolest technical demo I've ever seen in any videogame. If you had anything to do with it then kudos!

But I expect that the best is yet to come.

Suspect this is true, and certainly hope so. I've only been doing this stuff (flightsim) for ten years, and it was actually MS Flight that got me interested. I've never been either a gamer or simmer as I never felt the visuals were up to much in the early days and I'm not bothered with the whole FPS(hooter) thing. But starting with MSF, then FSX, P3D and XP, along with a huge number of addons, I've seen the world become more and more realistically modelled and worthy of investigation. And now with MSFS (and I have to say, XP with True Earth), we have something really rather special.

I won't comment on any flight model stuff - I'm just not interested. I'm something of a minor wing nut in that I love aircraft, and they're a great way to actually explore a virtual world, but I have zero interest in procedures or emulating actual piloting. But I've just spent 45 minutes circling Bora Bora in a Ka-10 mini copter as the sun came up and it was stunning on a 55 inch HDR 4k screen. I'd swear I got a tan.

And I will thoroughly enjoy doing the same with this Dune pack.

And I really look forward to being able to explore Mars, and the Moon, and maybe Saturn's rings or possibly Betelgeuse at some point. And all in a Ka-10 if I want to.

For all you guys that love to fly IFR in real time overnight in a tin tube - enjoy that as well. I think you're crazy the same way many of you think my type of simming is crazy but that's the amazing thing about MSFS - we can all get a huge amount of pleasure out of this whatever the path chosen, and huge credit to MS and Asobo for making this happen. I hope they make a sh*tload of money, I don't care about their motives, and if they pull the plug in a few years time I will have had a great time while it was around.

I wonder how long it will be before that startup screen is changed back to something normal. ?

Here's one way to avoid it if you have 15 dollars to spare: https://parallel42.com/products/stripr. I don't use it myself, don't really see the need for it. But I agree with you - don't like the Dune startup screen either.

I don't even look at the loading screen most of the time, I have the sim minimized and browse the web or watch a video while waiting for it to load.

Probably not until SU15 launches.
