Ground Environment X File folder?

Recommended Posts

Guest dwaohio

I could not install Ground Environment X? I tried it in the safe mode and it worked. Except it did not tell me what file folder it should be in. Can some one tell me what file folder Ground Environment X is in, so I can duplicate it using the safe mode.

You shouldn't be having any problems like that. Could you let us know exactly what steps you are taking to install?

If I'm understanding what your asking correctly it doesn't install the textures directly from the download, it creates a program which, when launched, is sort of an interface that allows you to install the textures from there and check for updates etc.... That's what is put in the C:Program Files directory.

Yeah, I'd say that's a setup bug. I installed on XP and got the same response. I changed it to install to my FSX directory at C:Flight Simulator X and it installed fine.It will create a directory C:Flight Simulator XGround Environment X, then in there I created a directory called GE-X Backup, and that's where I pointed the backup directory too.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180

Although I had no problems with the GEX installation, I found the verbage a little confusing.

It could be a permissions issue also. We found that in beta testing, especially in Vista. You can install it anywhere, including a root drive because it all goes into a Ground Environment X subfolder that is created. The best thing would be to right click and always run as Administrator (if you are having any problems). And of course, always check to see if any security application or Data Execution Protection is causing problems.

Thanks,
