Anybody tried AI_Sounds_FSX ?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,In Fs9 I used FsHotSFX for AI sounds.A very good program with driectional AI sounds. For FSX I came across AI Sounds FSX from Alan Constable. He had some freeware sounds, but now has a payware version which looks/sounds very good in the demo video. However I am having a self built 747 cockpit and want to now if it sounds good from within the cockpit too like FsHot SFX did.I have tried to contact Alan , but I unfortunately no reply up to now.It looks very promising.Anybody has experience with this program ?

I have it but am wondering if it installed rightManual says it installs into FSXMisc whatever that is, it does not exist after installThere is something under FSXSimObjectsMiscTraffic_sounds which I am sure is the install. The manual is hard to read the English seems translated, with way too many typos. It has an "alias" installer for Ultimate Traffic users, which I am, and is supposed to alias the AI sounds to the Traffic_SoundsI think this is for soundai folder, that works, it is aliased correctly to the Sounds_traffic folderI am about to check it out live, have not done so yetI dont wont to be harsh here, the product is promissing, its the manual thats just not well written up.Im sure it works, will go seeallen

Sounds are louder, you can here a jet going full throttle for T/O 4000 feet away where I was waiting in a taxiway, and it gets louder as it rolls down passing you in takeoff positionLouder in the sense of louder than the defualt, more distinct.Seems OK so far.I like the fact that there is a lot of new sounds for all the different AI a/c.

Thanks for some info.Myself I have MyTrafficX.Does it have an installer for that too ?According to the info it should have it.Is there really directional sound ?Eg you stand half way the runway and hear the aircraft coming from the left and continuing at the right ?

I have the version for MyTraffic 5.1 and it works very nicely. Lots of different sounds for each of the aircraft on the ground and it is directional. Just make sure you purchase the version for MyTraffic and not UT.Brent

I believe the two are the same, there being an update for MyTraffic, and UT being in the main one, as well as FSX-default AI, Just Flight, WOAI.al

Ten days ago I bought this set of sounds. The sounds are good, but not very loud.In order to hear them well I need to set the Engines to 100% and my soundcard to 50.Normally I use 50% for all FS sound settings and 25 for my soundcard.I tsted the sounds outside FSX and they are loud enough, but inside FSX very low.In the FSX.cfg file there are these entries :[sOUND]AmbientUIMusicVolume=-6.000000SOUND=1SOUND_QUALITY=2SOUND_LOD=0UISound=0AmbientUI=0SOUND_FADER1=1.000000SOUND_FADER2=0.620000SOUND_FADER3=0.610000SOUND_FADER4=0.750000Fader 1 seems to be the engines and they are maxed out. What Sound_Lod means I don't know.Anyone knows how to get the sounds louder without having to use a sound generator program ?Two times over the last 2 weeks I tried to contact the developer, but no repond to his email adres.

When I remarked they were "louder" I was referring to the fact that I could hear them better from farther away, which in real life would have meant they had to be louder at the point of originallen

Finally it appeared that in Vista all sounds are played at a lower volume.I had my speakerset still how I configured it for XP.In the meantime I also bought FsSound Studio and with that I "discovered" the pattern of engine sounds and now with Auacity I am making the "taxi" sounds louder , like it was with FsHotSFX.I want to have to put my fingers in my ears when a jet passes me when taxiing......
