DX10 Preview makes my game look terrible

Maybe I'm ignorant here, but when I load everything up and fly with the settings I have, the game looks great. Now, all I do is hit the dx10 preview box and the resolution is 800x600 at the least, there is little or no anti-aliasing going on, and flickering all over the place.I usually run the game at 1280x1024, with AA and AF both at 16x. My computer can handle it, I've got 8800GTX and C2d. Why does it look terrible when I hit that box??

You have to restart FSX after you hit the DX10 Preview box and after the restart, you have to set your resolution and AA+AF settings again. There are then 2 display entries in the fsx.cfg for your graphics card - one for DX9 and the last for DX10.

I did reset those, and for some reason, it looks as if the game isn't even attempting any type of AA or AF.Dupo

Unfortunately, it was called DX10 preview for a reason. On my system DX10 preview looks plain horrible and performs terrible.Also, you cannot adjust AA or AF in DX10 preview. What you see is what you get.I'm resovled to the fact that I will be running under DX9C because there is no way for me to get DX10 to compare visually or perform as well as FSX under DX9C.

And you did set AA and AF in the driver settings to application controlled and really activated AA and AF in FSX DX10 mode? Only the flickering on airports is on my system annoying. Performance is like DX9 mode, but with enabled Bloom and max water settings :)
