Swap helo mission tips

Recommended Posts

I haven't finished with the Acceleration sling load mission -- I am at the point now where I can pick up but not safely deposit objects -- but here are some things that are helping:1. In realism, turn torque down to 0 (recommended by ACES, because something is wrong with the model)2. Use a joystick with light springs, or shorten the springs of the one you have. (I recently went from a cheap Saitek ST290 to a vintage Sidewinder Precision Pro; sure enough it was more precise.)3. When picking up a load, keep your airspeed down to 5 knots or lower. (The tolerance for this is defined in aircraft.cfg in feet per second: auto_pickup_max_speed = 8.5 //Maximum speed (feet per second) for auto-pickup 8.5 fps = 5.03 knots according to convertit.com.)4. For pick-ups, try using the "WinchCam" view from Hovercontrol: http://tinyurl.com/2wnyp2. I find this much more useful than the built-in sling load camera (at least for picking things up) because it looks straight down.5. Watch this video of someone else doing it on YouTube:

That's what I know. Now, can anyone help me with something else? In regular, pre-Acceleration FSX there is a helo mission that ends when you land on a moving yacht. I have been stuck at this point for two weeks. (Granted, I might have been doing other things in that time as well.) Any pointers?
