I want the background music that alone would spice up the airways 😃.  Seriously looks fun and hopefully performance will be good.  I've been hoping for shooting stars forever, and if the auroras were done well which seems challenging not to overdo it will be a nice addon.  I love FS Birds when taking off KSFO those kinds of little things add a lot of immersion I feel.  I wish there were more wildlife, birds, bird strikes, people, cars, trains.  All that is coming for sure, not sure when is all!

Yes, but for real music Dynamix set the bar pretty high. 1 minute in: oompa band serenades and frauleins wave hankies in the air as our successful Uboot sails past Admiral Donitz after yet another successful mission!

The MSFS post landing screen is not this rewarding 😞

There is a HUGE fps drop when you use contrails with other AI aircraft like FSLTL. The dev is looking into this to further optimize contrails.

That was 1991 by the way. Damon Slye was still running Dynamix (Red Baron, Aces of the Pacific, Aces Over Europe, Aces of the Deep). There was always a debriefing in his sims, with honors awarded as appropriate. Accompanied by glorious 8 bit sound card celebration music, LOL!

For those who already bought it.

I fly the A2A Comanche... I have never seen any contrails from AI (offline or real time) or multiplayer aircraft. Will I get those with SimFX?

TIA.

I use FSLTL and I do get contrails.

Thanks @StoneDoor, I think FSLTL also brings its own contrails, so maybe SimFX enhances those?

I just use the generic AI either offline or real-time and never saw a contrail. Hoping that this mod might add them even in those scenarios, but would like to confirm before buying.

I think msfs' own AI traffic should have contrails too, but I never tried so I can't say for sure.

Nicer contrails would be my only reason for buying simFX, but I read here that they're heavy on framerates.

As far as I can read on the forums, MSFS will only generate contrails for AI aircraft if the player is in a plane that generates contrails itself… don’t ask me about the logic behind that 😂

If you won't show me your contrails, I will not show you mine 😉

Yep.  That sounds like typical Asobo logic if true, so yep, about right.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

According to one of the //42 guys on their Discord: “SimFX will realistically render contrails on all AI aircraft flying at high altitude, regardless of mods”

Does anyone here frequent the //42 Discord? I recently bought the SimFX add-on and on their Discord there were some nice user to user support channels where people shared experiences until recently. Now they seem to be gone, or I messed up my Discord settings (which is entirely possible). Anyone knows what happened?

You're right, seems to be gone for me as well. @Keven Menard can you enlighten us?
