Helicopters lack engine-sound response to throttle

Recommended Posts

Guest david W.

Why is it that the new EH101 helicopter engine-sound remains constant, and does not seem to respond to throttle changes? I also have another payware Sikorsky helicopter with the same sound problem. In a real helicopter, surely there have got to be some engine sound changes if one changes from half to full throttle and visa versa. The movement (lift or sink) of the helicopters in response to throttle is very noticeable but the engine-sound just remains flat and constant. It makes the helicopter seem very unresponsive. With the default Robinson helicopter, there is hardly any sound change to throttle, but if you set the volume very high, there is a faint sound change to throttle, but not enough. The only helicopter that Does seem to respond nicely to throttle changes is the default Bell-206.You can hear engine-sound change as you increase or decrease throttle. This makes it very satisfying to fly.regardsDavid

What sort of "change" do you think should occur ?Cal - CYXX

You do realize that the collective doesn't affect the throttle directly most of the time? It changes the pitch of the rotor blades which alters the torque and the governor then alters the throttle automatically to maintain the RPM...
