Looking for Flight Environment X opinions/info

I'm just looking for general information and opinions about Flight Environment X developed by Flight1:http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=flt1fexDoes it integrate seamlessly with FSX's built-in weather system (such as the real-world updates), or do I have set up the look of the clouds, etc. in FEX every time before I start FSX?What's the performance like? I know the website claims no performance loss, but is this just a sales pitch, or do they actually deliver?I'd also like to see some before/after comparisons between default FSX and FEX, if anybody has them or wouldn't mind taking the time to create them.I've hunted for reviews with Google, but I can't seem to find any, so I figured I'd appeal directly to the end users.Thanks.

Most beautiful clouds I have ever seen in a flight sim. Saw no difference in performance on my old 4 year old computer and see none on my present.

Hi!I think it's brilliant! The beautiful cirrus clouds alone are worth it! :-) Try to set up 8/8 coverage of cirrus at some 20000 feet, so beautiful! /Magnus

Here you can find some shots I took with FEX:http://www.flightsimworld.com/forums/index...6&hl=atmosphereI can absolutely recommend FEX, it renders high quality clouds with no fps impact - at least for me, I've got an old Athlon 64 3000+, ATI x850xt, 1GB ram, which struggled with FSX's default clouds and now seems to perform better than before.You can alter the cloud resolution all by yourself, so you can further influence the fps impact.In the FEX user interface, you can select cloud, sky and water themes or create new themes yourself (yes, you can actually design clouds yourself, with an easy-to-use editor).Then you click the "install" button and FEX installs the selected themes into FSX, replacing the original cloud textures etc.From that point on, you can shut down FEX and start and use FSX quite as usual, including all weather options, but with spectacularly enhanced clouds.Hope this helps :)Greetings from GermanyAlex

Thanks for everybody's input. I made the purchase this evening, and "stunning" is the only word I can think of to describe FEX. Online purchase and installation could not have been easier, and the software itself is very user friendly, though a little intimidating at first simply because there are so many options to choose from.A few screenshots I took. Man ... that really looks good. It's a great enhancement. I just wish the developers would rethink their price point.I just can't bring myself to part with $44.95 USD for a better sky/water environment. Perhaps it's because the price point for Flight Simulator X (an entire flight simulator) is $44.99.At $24.99 ... I think there's a value proposition.Christmas coupon promotion???

Yes, it does.You can even edit the water textures and the wave patterns to suit your own taste.
