With the added bonus it doesn't even need an extra subscription to that data. I watched a video yesterday by a Beyond ATC dev where he explained what their logic was and what to expect from the program. Before I continue I will state it's great we get that kind of feedback from devs both in video and discussion form as in this thread. He stated their clear intent was to provide instructions that matched what you actually saw yourself outside the window as you were taxiing around your favorite strip, regardless of whether it matched the latest airac /navigraph charts. So yes there were using the internal database of both default and addon airports to provide that information and added the caveat that some addons actually include inaccurate information that confuses the issue further. So it would seem to me a clearer choice for people between BATC and Say Intensions would be whether you prefer real world accuracy or in sim accuracy. Technically accurate ATC or WYSIWYG. Add that decider to the sub vs one off payment choice too and it should be easy to make an informed choice now. Russell Gough SE London
May 12, 20242 yr I use the “Real Taxiways” add-on from Just Flight, which corrects most of the default MSFS airports in the USA and Europe with correct taxiway naming and signage. I presume it would work with any ATC program that is capable of reading taxiway data from the scenery. May 12, 20242 yr Are they actually changing the taxiway data or just changing scenery objects? If it's only objects then it will not help, it's not clear to me. The Real Taxiways product consists of a group of BGL files that override the default taxiway names in the default scenery and also the taxiway sign objects. So yes, it changes both the data and the objects. Jim BarrettLicensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic, Avionics, Electrical & Air Data Systems Specialist. May 12, 20242 yr Well that sounds promising. Have you used it with BATC and does it resolve some of the 'no taxiway' issues at the airports covered by Real Taxiways? Might consider a purchase. Might consider a purchase. I don’t use BATC, but if it reads taxiway names directly from the scenery, it should resolve the correct real world names with Real Taxiways installed. I can say that with RT installed, LittleNavMap shows the correct names at any airport covered by the product. May 12, 20242 yr I honestly was just fine with the default FSX ATC. It generally got me to where I wanted to go and was also able to do flight following (vfr advisories). It was basic and really couldn't handle sids/stars but for basic vectors it seemed to work All of these new applications suggest to me that Asobo just needs to do a big rewrite of their code. If FSX could do it in 2006, why can't msfs nearly 20 years later? P s I too would not spend the money per month just for ATC. I do my own anyway 😂 That being said, I could see how it could be worth it to have solid ATC 24/7. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 12, 20242 yr Sounds like the easiest option is to just turn off whichever ATC software you have running as soon as you are cleared to land. 🫣 // 5800X3D // RTX 3090 // 64GB RAM // HP REVERB G2 //

And it had an "AI copilot" which was able to perform a complete flight, from take-off to land. In 1990. I'm obviously biased here, because I took some part in its development, not the original ATP, but its two follow up successors, Airline Simulator and Airline Simulator 2.
