It's certainly up there. It certainly has the best turboprop simulation in MSFS, and I'm really impressed with the "fit and finish" of the product.

The one problem with it that I've found is involving the inertial separator. And it's not BS's fault. It looks at the surface your plane is on, and if it's a loose surface and you don't have the intertial separator engaged, it will damage your engine. The problem is that MSFS itself is pretty sloppy about matching surface visuals to surface materials. Not too many ramps made of gravel at international airports, but I discovered I was damaging the engine on one in a test flight. Visually it looked like the pavement it should have been, but the sim told the plane it was gravel.

Pretty small thing, and there's not much BS can do about it short of adding code that disables the surface check at international airports maybe. Beyond that, it's a really fantastic plane.

However, if you only like to go fast, you'd probably like the Hjet or the FSW Lear 35 better, both of which are also excellent.

That sounds pretty realistic to me.. An engine producing that kind of thrust sucks alot of air, and loose gravel would probably be as well.

Yes, the damage from gravel ingestion is realistic. The paved surface that the sim says is gravel is not.

I thought the turboprop simulation was precisely the point where BlackSquare does NOT simulate correctly, from my reading of the various topics ?

Comparisons with Miltviz Porter and SWS PC-12 were always ending with conclusions such as "BS uses the default Asobo turboprop engine, so they can't make it better, contrary to SWS/Milviz/other turboprop makers" ??

Did I misunderstand ? Until now, my understanding was that BS is top-notch on "everything but the turboprop simulation".

From everything I read FSReborn are fantastic as well, although I'm waiting for their Phenom before I get anything from them.

Compared to p3d I do feel very spoilt for choice in this Sim.

My top 3 are the Turbine Duke, the A2A Comanche, and the Blackbird Cessna 310. Compared to the other two, the Duke is outstanding when it comes to engines and systems complexity (it simply has more of it because it is a pressurized turboprop). However, it misses a walk-around, and state preservation appears to be more complete in the other two planes.

After 20yrs of flight simming my flabber has been totally gasted by the Black Square Duke. The level of complexity and depth of sophistcation of the graphics on their tablet is awe inspiring. Flying the piston version is a delight, even starting the engines still impresses me, and if you want extra speed there is always the turbine version.
Nb. You really do need to view the YouTube BlkSqr video to start it.

Good question... Been holding on spending in that purchase because the Comanche is great but I seldom use GA in any sim... But reading some of the user comments and from YouTube I begin to think it's going to be difficult to refrain from buying it 😁

Main Simulation Rig:

Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti, 1 TB & 500 GB M.2 nvme drives, Win11.

Simulators used: Condorsoaring 3 (for soaring)

XP12 ( For, the better aerodynamics, a couple aircraft addons... with xEnviro and JF Traffic Global, using default ATC )

FS 2024 ( Main / preferred Flight Simulator, airliner flights and  career mode, BATC/FSHUD and FSLTL/ AIG - LOVE IT !!! )

That's the question. Is Black Square number 1?  I'm talking about GA aircraft obviously.

And what are the next upcoming projects?

Not number one.  The systems modeling is top-notch, but often the flight modeling needs work. A2A is number 1, sadly they only have one offering at the moment.

Not in my book, but very good though! The Comanche is still on top of my list.

I haven't flown the Turbine Duke yet, just the Piston version, but the other two aircraft are certainly on my list of favourites.
The all have their own wow factor, even after having flown them quite a lot. I like the 310 because of the immersion, the virtual passengers and wear and tear. The Comanche has a great walkaround feature, superb engine and systems simulation and I really like the fact you can manually pushback the aircraft, since those pushback carts for these kind of aircraft are unrealistic. The Piston has also great engine and systems simulation.

Of all those aircraft, the Milviz 310 has the better immersion factor, very closely followed by the Comanche. For me that is important..

I would say it's up there with the likes of A2A, FSW, FSR. All IMO have strived to bring the most realism possible with the current sim, and this from a guy that had no interest in GA from launch of MSFS.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung  NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive

Not sure about such a ranking for BS. There are also other good ones. The recently released Duke, in my opinion, according to pics I've seen, lacks better definition on the panel textures, maybe they paid too much attention to the performance in sim.
