Hudson River murky color..

Recommended Posts

I just noticed that the Hudson is all muddy colored north of NYC.. Is this new, or did I screw something up with my textures? No add-ons installed that should be altering the default scenery..

I've seen muddy rivers all over the place in FSX Bert, so I wouldn't worry too much about the Hudson. Whether this is lifelike is another question. You'll have to ask any NYC folk posting here.Mike.

The default waterclass shows the Hudson as WC 12 - outflow water brown from about the Bronx, and then a ways further up it changes to WC 8 - deep inland water brown.scott s..

Yeah- I like the muddy rivers-nice improvement to fs! Below a shot of crossing the Mississippi this summer. Now if only they could get the small lakes to look closer (they don't look like neon oceans)!http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1b5baf...b9f427f694g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181654.jpg

They don't call the Mississipi River "The Big Muddy" for nothing!

Geofa,Yea, the color of the lakes is off. Sky views of a lake in clear weather display a noticeably grayish almost slate color. Here's a shot of Lake Winnepesaukee in New Hampshire during a clear day ... compared to the FSX version. As you can see, the lake is much bluer in FSX and much grayer in real life.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181658.jpg

We're gonna have to start watermarking real photos as such. It's getting to the point, with the quality of FEX and GEX that I have to stare intently at a foto to see if it's FSX or real.
