May 21, 20242 yr yes the airport looks very nice, but clearly FlyTampa is lacking knowledge about proper runway signs, like many other scenery developers. there can not be a runway sign "20-02" at this position. a real pilot would spot this immediately. It could only show a runway "20", as you can not take off into the opposite runway heading "02" from here. too many scenery designers all make this same mistake. But I'm starting to question if we really need this level of detail, at least when it's developed by a small team or even just one person, if it means it will be in development for 3 years. It's been delayed again for almost half a year by now. I don't think many even notice all the detail that's in there, I certainly don't. I would be more than happy to pay a cheaper price for a "basic interior" version of airports. I have used drone cam to fly around some of the airports I've bought, but I only ever do that once. Tbh, I sometimes wonder if there would be a market for "basic airport packs". Something like 5+ airports within a region that are not created to exact detail, but closer to something like what Asobo do with world updates. Similar to the real thing, but also somewhat fictional. Anything to bring some life to the bland default airports. Tbh, if they ever get the World Builder system in a place where we can add a bit a scenery I think buying airports would become way less of a priority for many of us.

France VFR has such packs (Airport France Pack 1-3) containing around 5 airports each. Also, since there is so little runway to the left, wouldn't most aircraft in real life just turn right to line up instead of backtracking these ~100ft? AI aircraft just follow the baked-in taxiroute but it looks silly. Even tiny GA aircraft have to taxi all the way to the end while in reality the would prefer to save time and just turn right here. It would also clear the runway faster. That was the situation with the release version of UK2000 Doncaster Xtreme in P3D with respect to runway 20. I never could understand why it was done this way, as I modified my own version to eliminate the short backtrack, and it worked just fine. May 22, 20242 yr A surprise, for sure. But I got it and I think it's great. And I would love to see more like this from the big names. This fits in nicely with the Humber Bridge scenery I got recently, and there are dozens of good quality RAF and civil airfields available in the area that make this a fascinating place to explore low and slow. I dare say if you're a tube flyer it is a bit of a wasted exercise, but there's plenty of non-tube flyers around who will love this Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case.
