June 1, 20242 yr There is a "new" & cheap B717-200 now available on the Marketplace from developer FSX360 - however the ONLY relevant reference to FSX360 I could find is in the thread here on the MSFS CS B717-200 referring to the directory structure of the installed version so I did some cursory checking and spotted that not only is the Marketplace text and the CS Store page text identical, screenshots of the Marketplace 717 are using the "CS" livery of the Captain Sim version and indeed one of the screenshots is almost weirdly identical to on the CS store page. I can't say what's going on here - is FX360 a separate dev team that have split from CS ? Are CS using a new name to avoid any unfortunate associations ? I don't know but without a clear explanation I'm not sure how much confidence I could have even if it's not actually the CS version. June 2, 20242 yr There's a saying in Spanish that says ladrón que roba a ladrón, cien años de perdón (something like "It's no crime to steal from a thief"). June 2, 20242 yr I bought this word not allowedbrick when it first came out and the folder has always been called "aircraft-fsx360-B717" it is interesting that they have now officially called themselves FSX360 in the market place. Make no mistake this is 100% Captain Sim's product. If I had to guess it's because they have made extensive changes to the aircraft. The change log since the beginning of the year is extensive. I haven flown it in months when I used it for a you tube video seeing if the improvements in v1.1 made it better. Now they are on Ver 1.104. with new engine sounds and PFD ND and actual 717 aural warnings in that weird robotic lady voice.

June 2, 20242 yr A user did post asking for clarity on this on the CaptainSim forums and they came back with this answer: Vote to fix transparent sun visors having no effect on the sun glare effect in MSFS at: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/sun-shades-sun-visors-not-influencing-light-in-cockpit/691565/
June 2, 20242 yr Well seems like even in the marketplace full of noobs and innocuous people CaptainSim has already ruined his name! For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
June 2, 20242 yr Dang, this brings back not-so-fond memories of Papa Tango/Peter Tishma rebranding as Ariane Design after burning PT down in the most epic dumpster fire in flightsim history. June 2, 20242 yr FSX360 is such a weird name, why name your company after a much much earlier predecessor of MSFS? June 4, 20242 yr Are they trying to rebrand Capt. Sim as the (relatively) respected company it was way back in the day, when they actually released products that they'd developed instead of just asset-copied? Maybe they're shoving the asset copies over to this FSX360 thing now. Or vice versa? Otherwise it makes no sense. Yugo did not have a spinoff for a reason... 😉 Ryzen 7 7800X3D/B650 X AX | 5090 | 32gig | Win10 | Pimax Crystal Light
