June 7, 20242 yr The clue that the C-47 won't start is that the "marshaller" doesn't appear off the left wingtip of the glider. I tried many different configs of the sim and have narrowed it down to something in a scenery library. I deleted all sceneries but let the libraries load and the marshaller still didn't appear. Don't know exactly which one yet, still checking. Thought I'd give a heads up to getting your glider in the air. It's a tough go for anyone who thinks they're a "hot stick". I'll update when I isolate the offending library or libraries. Anyways, good luck and have fun. June 8, 20242 yr If the Marshaller does not appear, one of the sceneries might have an issue with Airport Services. It is likely that the tugs are also missing then. The only way to find which one(s) are causing this is by elimination: rename the Community folder and see if it is resolved. If it is, put half the sceneries back and continue until you have narrowed it down. The solution is to go into the scenery folder an find the AirportServices folder. Below it is another folder that either has multiple levels of folders below it or does not have a unique name. You can either delete the folder or repair it by making sure there is only one folder level below that "AirportServices" folder and that it is unique, by renaming the folder to the icao code of the Airport. You will have to change the path in the layout.json accordingly. June 8, 20242 yr Author That's the issue, the marshaller didn't show up. The activity won't run if the marshaller doesn't show up on the loading screen just before the "FLY NOW" tab. Everything in the glider seemed to work, but no guy on the left wing. Anyways, I disabled all of the scenery libraries and reenabled them one by one. Couldn't find the offending file. Everything is working fine now. Even some of the updated sceneries. I had tried multiple "restarts" but to no avail. The marshaller showed up when I disabled all of the scenery libraries. I enabled them one by one and now the program works with all enabled. Strange happenings. It's really quite an entertaining activity. Thank you Jcomm, I had tried that to full extremes.. but if the marshaller wasn't there, nothing happened..😒 Not sure what happened, but after restarting MSFS over 40 times trying all of the different scenery libraries, all is working well now. June 9, 20242 yr I can't set an airport for the Tow version. The "Fly Now" button is greyed out. The regular C-47 works fine. Tried with all community/mods disabled, but no joy. Looking at the map filters legend, I see there's an icon for showing "Glider friendly" airports. I went to a few known glider airfields in the UK, but none of them show that icon - could this be a clue?

June 11, 20241 yr For all those peeps like me that struggled with this (to begin with) ... 1) The WACO/Tow livery is NOT flyable. You have to select the WACO glider (as an aircraft) and then you can place it anywhere you like ... BUT ... 2) From the menu, need to select the LAUNCH METHOD then the C-47 (or any other aircraft if you're feeling reckless). If you don't see the launch helper on the port wing, then you're stuck ... as waggling the rudders won't trigger the launch. You'll need to do some sleuthing to find which scenery is causing the problem. Google the solution (it's related to folder structure and *.spb files). A lot of older sceneries have this problem - though you wouldn't know it unless you tried a glider of any sort. The launch trigger really does need to have separate keyboard functionality, IMHO. June 11, 20241 yr Author Adamski_NZ, excellent summation. After having initial issues, have been flying the glider successfully for several days now. I would like to have a longer tow than just five minutes around the pattern.😆 Terry I9-10850K, Mugen 5 cooler, Gigagbyte Aorus Z490 Master, 2TB Samsung 980 Pro M.2, 1TB Samsung 970 Plus, 2TB Samsung 870evo, Corsair RM-850, G-Skill DDR-4 3600, Lian Li LanCool Mesh, Nvidia 4080FE, Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, MFG Crosswind pedals, Win10 Pro

It'd be interesting to see if you could recreate actual/real historical D-Day flights.
