I think the problem is down to not linking to the P3D SDK. the manual does explain this very well which part of the SDK.

What exactly is the problem? Are you using BGL plans or AIGFP ones?

If you position at EGCC at 11:30 local how many Ai do you see? AI Companion is useful for this.

I`m using the latest AIG manager and AIG traffic control. I see hardly any traffic It was all day loading downloading flight plans. It uses AIGFP.

Have you got Ai Companion? If not get it here. It gives an easy view of aircraft in the sim. Then set your aircraft as previously requested and report back.

Incidentally it might have been better to just install a few airlines rather than the whole lot. I have 1300+ BGLs and there are hundreds more.

can't agree more ... found AIGFP inconsistent (routing was often incorrect) etc.

Routing with AIGFP is meant to follow jet routes making it more realistic when you're airborne than GCR with BGLs.

But with many of my airlines some flights have a NO PAINT aircraft. Using AIFP3 I can switch those flights to a similar aircraft with a livery.

That isn't possible with AIGFP files as there's no equivalent editor. And given the AIFP3 author has retired the possibility has diminished greatly.

The AIG AI Manager was supposed to eliminate all the hard work required to install AI traffic by allowing the user to just download a file and click a button.  This is the easy way, but as some have discovered is fraught with issues.  Sometimes the easy way is not the best way.

I've been installing AI flight plans and planes manually for years and my AI traffic works well.  It's a lot of work, but I enjoy doing it and I get a lot of satisfaction from it.

As for the AIG traffic controller, well, it adds another layer of software that interferes with the sim and just invites more problems.  Having the AI planes fly a realistic route means nothing to me when I'm in the air managing my own flight.

Keeping it simple makes problems less likely.

Dave, do you know if there's a tutorial out there for manual additions to AIG? Been wondering how that was done and looked through the AIG stuff but could not quite figure it out.

I wanted to add my own ANA flight plans as in AIG the AIGFP is the only option and I dont have AIG configured to use them as I wanted to remain with the std .BGL format for FPs.

I don't know if there's a tutorial for adding AI traffic manually.

I download the plans from AIG or AItraffic.ch and then download the planes, links to which are usually in the repaints folder.  I use a tool called AI Flight Planner which reads the flight plan files and makes the BGL traffic file.

Thanks Dave. I think I have that bit covered. Does the .BGL need to sit in or outside the AIG folder structure or it doesnt matter?

The BGLs can just go in your scenery/world/scenery folder.
