June 13, 20241 yr Much of the disappointment and expectations probably originate from the atmospheric and weather experience during the 1st year of MSFS2020. The whole look and feel of the air we fly in has been shattered with the introduction of the accurate METAR information and associated changes in the presentation and dynamics of the weather systems and their clouds. The part of the community which appreciates realistic representation of weather and its interaction with the aircraft has been anticipating major changes that would bring the original implementation back, with the improvements regarding the real world surface airport data agreement.
June 13, 20241 yr I'm not ready to reach any conclusion because MS has said very little about weather in 2024 outside of tornadoes and promising clouds won't look ugly on the wish list. Also, and I could be wrong about this but I don't think we've seen one second of 2024's live weather implementation yet 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.

Dreaming perhaps, but that would be very cool. the trailers seem to imply there will be cutscenes of your pilot going to your aircraft. 20 minutes ago, turbomax said: just not the primary focus of a private GA or airline pilot. Well then it's good that MSFS 2024 will also cater to private GA and airline pilots and free-form flight! Like MSFS 2020 already does 🙂 It might be hard to grasp this concept for some, especially those who're used to legacy sims, but with a team big enough (i.e. 250+), and the deep pockets of a ginourmous software company (i.e. MS), it really is possible to focus on and improve multiple areas of flight and aviation simulation, without needing to compromise on one or another. Neat isn't it 🙂 Yet another direct-from-the-horse's-mouth clarification one would be well advised to read every time a fear comes over you that serious GA or airline pilots are being neglected:https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/msfs2024-november-19th-2024/644877/278Hi folks, In the panel at FSExpo last year 3, Jorg and Seb said that there were three main focus areas for improvement in MSFS2024. Just because they introduced them as Focus Areas 1-3 in their PowerPoint deck doesn’t imply that one is of greater importance than the other two. All three are equally important. The three focus areas are adding the new Aviation Activity System, improving the Core Sim & Technology (including the physics and aerodynamics engine, aircraft systems, avionics, and more), and improving the Digital Twin (Static World, Dynamic World, and Living World). Thanks, MSFS Team My advice: keep reading and looking at what they're actually saying/showing and already said/shown at FS Expo'23 (and not just this latest 2 minute trailer).. and then listen/see to whatever extra info they provide between now and release date.. and then get the sim in your hands.. and *then* shout and scream as needed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Edited June 13, 20241 yr by lwt1971 Len 1980s: Sublogic FS II on C64 ---> 1990s: Flight Unlimited I/II, MSFS 95/98 ---> 2000s/2010s: FS/X, P3D, XP ---> 2020+: MSFS Current system: i9 13900K, RTX 4090, 64GB DDR5 4800 RAM, 4TB NVMe SSD

I realize you always like to take digs at what they're saying and Jorg especially 😂 and that's fine. And yes no need to believe *everything* they say, but it's also the case that there's a bunch of stuff they said they'll do and have done in the past 3+ years of SUs, AAUs, WUs, etc. And going by the advice of not believing everything they say/show until the sim is in our hands (which is of course very prudent), then the same applies to the trailer and not immediately believing only what's shown there will be in the sim. Naa, those of us who don't seem to get triggered by him (or his smiles) are just prudent enough to take everything with a grain of salt, and judge whatever he says vs what's been actually done (also of course along with Seb and others). That doesn't then therefore mean we think "he walks on water" 🙂 And when we laud him for the actual great things he's done to bring MSFS to where it's at now, it also doesn't mean we think he walks on water. That's internet forums, it's usually the same people saying the same things. With regards to MSFS2024 it stems from a lack of actual information on the game, once more comes out then discussions will move on. Essentially we've just had two trailers and a bit of info last year, there's not much at all to go on and that itself causes speculation that gets overblown Again same thing happens with most hyped up games so it's nothing new, but in terms of flight simulation perhaps it is a bit new so it comes as a surprise to some I dunno!
