Current Opinions of Drzewiecki Designs KEWR?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm curious to hear what people think of this airport, especially around performance.  I know when it first came out there were a lot of concerns about performance, but there have been several patches released I believe and I'm also not sure how much of that was the airport itself vs the general challenging nature of performance in the New York area.

It's on 40% sale right now at Just Flight so I'm contemplating a purchase.  I have been using the freeware version available which is decent, but for this major hub I'm willing to spend a bit for the improved visuals and detail if performance is workable.

Thanks for any insights.

13900K and 4090 here...disappointed. not well optimized imho. Stutter on approach and ground.

Performance is still abysmal compared to say fly tampa boston or Flightbeam minneapolis.  As bad orworse than Inibuilds JFK and Honolulu.

Looks great.  I have a 13700k and 4080Super and performance is barely tolerable.  50-60fps with frame gen but as the poster above says the stuttering is bad and there appears to be some sort of memory leak thats causes random frame drops even when not looking at the terminal.  It's the DD EWR scenery because MK Studios La Guardia performs much better.  Inibuilds JFK sucks too but not as bad if you really dull down the options.

Best option aesthetically but performance is still about the worst in FS.  It was the same in P3D with the same scenery unfortunately.

With that said, the new lossless Frame generator has made even KEWR butter smooth!

Have a Wonderful Day

Looks great, horribly optimized and has sound issues. I removed all airport sound files from the directories.

Ryzen 7 7800X3D and 4090, not impressed. Couldn‘t be bothered to lower my settings, though. Then it may run better.

Like everyone has said...It is a port over from P3Dv4 and 5.  So, optimization and following the SDK requirements are probably not met.  I am sure someone will create new or they may bring this up to current standards.

Thanks for the feedback Everyone, looks like I’ll leave this one alone for now.

I bought it in a sale after asking the same question in a discord server. I feel the answers I got were wrong regarding performance because my experience (13900K and 4090 at 4K) is the same as everyone else who has replied to the thread. I wish I hadn't gotten it, frankly.
