There are two new ones coming out, one of which (Crystal Light) is available for order and the Super is coming in Q4. I don't think it makes a lot of sense to go for the older Crystal at this time, unless it's a budget question. The Super will probably not work well with a 3080 since it's very high resolution, although dynamic foveated rendering will alleviate the performance impact. If you want to upgrade your GPU in the future however, maybe it's something to look into. Otherwise, the Crystal Light seems to be very good. The light seems the best option but looks like may have to upgrade the GPU think will be sensible to wait for a bit esp with msfs2024 coming out soo. 3080rtx on a i7 12700k with 32 Gig ddr5. 2gig Ssd Quest 2 Windows 11

And likewise with the Quest 3 resolution (2208 pixels). I doubt that a 3080 will give you a remarkably great experience when pushing 2880 pixels... I'm pushing 2100 pixels per eye on a 3070Ti with my G2. It'll probably be fine. Ryzen 7 7800X3D/B650 X AX | 5090 | 32gig | Win10 | Pimax Crystal Light
July 4, 20241 yr The Crystal Light will give you many more fps than the Quest 3 and a better picture. Latest review on youtube: 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. July 4, 20241 yr Crystal uses a display port, Quest 3 uses a USB port. This is why it takes more horsepower to run a Quest 3, even though the resolution is lower. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. July 5, 20241 yr That's true. But flightsimguy on YT says crystal light gives him better fps than Quest 3. I never owned either. But my HP G2 gave far better fps than my Quest 2. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. July 8, 20241 yr I have the Pimax Crystal (not light). I am very satisfied with it and the performance. I run nearly everything maxed out at full native resolution with Auto FPS and DLSS 3.7. I average 35-45 FPS even in the most dense cities. I am using an AMD 7800X3D and 4090 GPU. For those with lower specs you can reduce the resolution by 20% and modify some of the settings that free up performance but don’t have s significant impact on visual quality. If I do this, my FPS jumps to 55-65 FPS. But I prefer better visuals and it still usually runs pretty smooth. And I fly helicopters 60% of the time for which FPS is more important than planes in VR. I would not hesitate to buy a Crystal Light and that’s what I would have purchased if it was available last summer.

July 8, 20241 yr Quest 3 vs. Crystal Light. This guy has probably seen them all for thousands of hours. 12:24 is the place for his considered opinion. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. July 8, 20241 yr By the way, he does love the Quest 3 in MSFS. But thinks the Crystal Light is an even better choice. It does cost more, however. But you don't need a better strap or anything like that in the Crystal. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
