Granted they can't be experts in every area of gaming, just pains me that what we had we lost and we've still not got it back. That's fair, but most issues introduced with SU7 were fixed. I remember it was a mess at the beggining (not sure if it was because of the servers). One of the things not fixed, because it wasn't really a bug, was the METAR weather ring. I still believe they should have stayed with the meteoblue forecast prediction system, instead of using METAR based weather for the airport areas, but that's just me. Out of curiosity, what issues introduced in SU7 weren't fixed? I know there's a thread, and most issues were fixed AFAIK. Is this true, and why do you think there is still this perception in some in the community?Jorg: The perception exists because our trailers appeal to a wide audience, which is intentional. Do I need to convince flight simmers that flight simming is cool? No – it’s their hobby. We need to ensure we fulfill their wishes, which is why we track wishlists and feedback closely. To make flight simming broader, we need to appeal to more people. This should be bookmarked and repeated every time someone complains about something they perceive is a give to “gamers” or “the Xbox crowd”, especially if it’s some entirely optional content like Dune, Halo etc. Dave Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU

I’d imagine they’re finding ways to optimize 2024 much more than 2020, especially since they’ve changed so much under the hood. The better the performance will be in 2024, the larger their customer base will become in 2024, i.e. they will sell more copies of FS. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Yup the only way they can get back to pre-SU7 weather is if they offer live weather in two modes for user to choose (with METAR blending, or pure global like pre-SU7). Unless of course they're somehow able to improve their algorithms that blend METAR with global weather data (much easier said than done). At least their core weather engine is being improved with more cloud types, improved clouds definition, and of course the new atmospherics engine. I'm just curious that they went out of their way to mention improved storms, simulation of super cells and tornadoes, etc last year but nothing on those this year (maybe those are only doable in manual weather but the data to pick up on those for live weather isn't there currently). In any case, it feels like they have much more to say about weather but not yet, so let's see. I've seen the photos lol. They get along really well. Now as for Jorg dodging the ATC question, I'm gonna make another bold prediction. They've been hard at work making something they feel is going to blow our minds and don't want to speak a word of it till it gets its own feature discovery video for maximum effect. It will be AI controlled, of course. Now for my wacked out, 1% chance of happening prediction, MS is gonna employ people to do full time ATC for us, round the clock haha. Take the first prediction seriously, laugh with me at the second one lol 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.

Take the first prediction seriously, laugh with me at the second one lol Yeah, I would pay attention to the copilot+ new features (real-time translations, real-time help etc), it would nicely fit into flight simulation, including ATC features. Also, MSFS was shown there when they presented the feature (it was a help tool, not ATC). About the second part🤣... I would suggest something not so crazy. Partnering with IVAO or VATSIM, to have this feature running flawlessly in-sim. VATSIM/IVAO would take care of the trainning and MS would take care of the infrastructure to run it. I bet more pilots and controllers would be interested on joining it. I think they might have tried before, but not a priority so far. 9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel

Many debates have been had, but let me summarize. When the 3D weather data dictates a weather that is reported as BKN015 that means that VFR is impossible and illegal, As the weather in MSFS looks today, and nothing indicates it will be different in 2024, aspiring pilots will continue to be able to ignore the limitations from bad weather.
