PMDG sold 6000 copies of the 777 in 3 minutes

Even more reason to call them greedy.

Thousands of people are paying for it at that price. It takes willing buyers to create sales at a particular price point (see the Leonardo MD-80 for example).

For me, while I can see there have been improvements over what PMDG achieved with the 737, there's no compelling reason why I should fork out over £60 on an aircraft that doesn't appeal to me as much as others out there. Knock $22.73 off from the price and it becomes a different proposition...

Yeah this is honestly making me love and appreciate Aamir and the other folks at Fenix more. We're not dumb. We know how massive the user base for MSFS is so we know they didn't have to price it that high. Business is business, though. They did their research and realized they could get away with it.

Oh, sorry about that, man. It was part of MS' highest rated add-ons sale. It went down to about $40 or so.

I know, I haven't bought it because I thought I had to buy all the livery packages. And that week I was abroad and had to time asking here...

Does it really matter???

They run a successful business apparently. Applause to them for making a boatload of money if that's the case!

It only is incentive for them to do more!

I'd rather flightsim developers were flying around in their own jets than in campervans, it means our hobby is very healthy indeed!

Is this real RSR aka PMDG have a private plane???

Does it really matter? I'm critical of RSR & PMDG But...

If they choose to spend my money on a private jet due to there success so be it!

Neither do I, but it's mostly because I can't bear to learn how to use an FMC, if anyone can give a tip on a simple tutorial video how it works, I'd be grateful.

Anyone remember how many PMDG 737, iniBuild A300 or Fenix A320 that were flying on the Vatsim network the first 24 hours after release? According to SimAware, it shows over 850+ 777-300ER connected to the network as of this morning. This does not count the connections from the US last night with almost 200 departures out of KPAE. I remember the A300 was a few hundred on release but no where near the 850 mark. On Volanta it easily exceeds 1000+. For a plane priced at $77.73 it sure is breaking any record I have seen in all my years of flightsiming for a payware plane. They haven't even hit the Marketplace yet. It doesn't look like price is hurting them any.

They don’t own the plane for “fun”. They charter it under Part 135 as another way of generating revenue. It’s used for business.

Their former aircraft, a DC-3 (which they have since sold), was more in the line of “fun and recreation”.

PMDG knows their business. Even at this price, they will sell hundreds of thousands of 777. So it means the product was well priced. If it was too expensive, people would not buy it.

Of course, it was nice to have the Fenix A320 for less than £50. But it was not well priced as I'm sure, it would have sell the same way if it was priced £65.

I won't complain to have had the Fenix at that price of course and I would have loved to have the 777 for less than $60. But like many others simmers, I will buy it anyway.

I can't remember how much the Cpt Sim 777 was but those charlatans must've made a killing on that too.
