Apart from poor engine sounds that PMDG has for their planes, why they are still using same voice for callouts (V1, rotate, etc..)? It’s new MSFS platform, won’t it be nice to re-work the whole sounds and record new voice style rather than copy and paste from P3D? Same goes for pushback voice sounds. The same voice has been used for many years since FSX era if I am not mistaken. I had to always rely on third party devs to fix poor made engine sounds. I wish Boris had been involved with them.

Yup, i posted in their forum about an egt bug from 2013 that is still present in the msfs version.  There must be an absolute ton of recycled code from the original fsx version.  The sound recordings are also recycled and just "remixed"

Same with the NGX/NGXu/NG3.

The sound is absolutely unacceptable.

I just purchased it, and I agree. What a let down.

I must be alone… the first startup had my walls rumbling to the point where I thought the shelves might come loose! Had me smiling like a kid in a candy shop. 🤷‍♂️

Okay, I haven‘t tried that yet… but I know I used to get goosebumps when spooling up the engines back in FSX/P3D. Something really took a turn for the worse here.

Love the soundset in p3d, shame if it's not at least up to that level. Hopefully they'll fix it (before the freighter comes out)...

Incidentally, this is the sound I would like to hear in the cockpit in the sim (disclaimer -  I know its not realistic to have the sound like this in the cockpit), that low growl is a thing of beauty and this is from the 777-200..

While I completely agree in theory - to be fair, that video is a PW4000 powered 777, not a GE90 as is present on the -300ER, so not really a fair comparison. I'm sure the GE90 does have a low frequency range sound that is certainly missing from the current soundset though and I too really want it to be improved as it is holding back what is otherwise an excellent product.

Has the way you pronounce V1 changed in the last few years? In a world of limited dev time, especially at the speed with which PMDG works, I really think there are bigger fish to fry than some vocal callouts which are perfectly fine. Why would they spend time recording these for absolutely no benefit?

I think the general sentiment has been that startup is ok. It's spooling/high N1 values at lower altitudes (so primarily takeoffs and approaches) where they sound really bad. They are lacking any sort of low range frequencies which makes it sound more like a vacuum cleaner, or as one real world pilot streamer so eloquently put it, more like an air raid siren than a turbofan.

At least they’re doing their part to save the planet. Reduce, reuse, recycle.

Well, I finally got the 777 purchased and flew some circuits. Overall, really not that much different than the P3D version which I guess is good. That said, the sounds are really bad. I obviously can't speak to how things sound in the flight deck but even from cabin/wing views, the engine sounds are bizarre and sound awful. Surely, for the price, and the pedestal that so many place PMDG on, they can do better sounds than this!! I'll be eagerly awaiting their update or a 3rd party sound set.

Yeah I know Andrew, it would just be nice to have the sounds at that decibel level in the cockpit is what I meant, even if it is unrealistic..
