June 28, 20241 yr Not sure if they just don’t care, or if they haven’t reached that level of maturity as devs, but the iniBuilds airports are easily the worst performing in the sim. Not sure how KSAT ended up 6+ GB but after 2 patches they at least made it flyable, mostly. Their aircraft have similarly high demands on hardware.
June 28, 20241 yr I love them even if they are sometimes quite heavy on performance. Very detailed, I love the atmsophere, they can release them quickly compared to some others designers and as a bonus have many huge sales during the year. Honestly when you buy them on sale, the value for your money is really great.
June 28, 20241 yr Agreed trying to run Ultra Clouds, FS Traffic/FSLTL injection, a demanding aircraft with a huge IniBuilds airport is gonna eat a ton of performance. Throw in VR as the cherry on top and WHAM!!!🤣 Even though the sim will still try it's best to chug and get you through takeoff. July 2, 20241 yr People having performance problems at iniBuilds airports are using GPUs with less than 8GB of VRAM. It will run smoothly with 10GB or more VRAM.

I guarantee both of you are using DX11. I dare either of you to switch to DX12 (which all airports from Flightbeam and FlyTampa work just fine under) and try and fly into KSAT, especially runway 4 arrival. It will stutter so bad you’ll think the sim froze. iniBuilds has admitted they do not optimize their stuff for DX12 which was an extremely foolish decision by them. MS2024 is shipping with just DX12 so they better get their heads out of the sand quickly because when everyone who’s been using DX11 reloads their unoptimized airports into MS2024 it will not go well. July 4, 20241 yr I easily hit 12GB of VRAM using DX12. The biggest issue isn't the frames; it's the stutters. It’s still beyond me why experienced developers like iniBuilds continue to release airports that are way too complex for the sim. The majority of us just want a nice airport we can fly into without worrying about FPS and stutters.
July 4, 20241 yr I have completely given up on DX12. Why do you insist on using it. Is there a reason for it. I don't have a gaming machine, but its pretty good with lots of RAM and a very good graphics card. I have no problem running the Inibuilds airports so far, including the LA that everyone complains about. Although I did get it after the latest patch that is suppose to help a lot with the frame rates. Also own KSAT KELP and KPSP. Ron MSFS 2024 -Too many airplanes to name. Too many airports to name.

Tested as much as I could, but went back the DX11 in the end. Whatever I lose is worth it for the fluidity I get with DX11. Ron MSFS 2024 -Too many airplanes to name. Too many airports to name.
