There was tidbit from Jorg in one of the interviews from FS Expo (I think it may have been FS Elite) where he openly says they'll never be able to deliver chart or service on the level Navigraph, so I'd think twice if anyone is overly excited about completely dropping Navigraph subscription and quite frankly, I have yet seen anything from Microsobo that would surpass the level of quality of third party devs.

I don't recall any such statement. From the screenshots we have a route planner with Charts that is at least equal if not superior to Navigraph.

Why? because with Navigraph - you basically need to use an additional application: Simbrief which is an old clunky web interface, by some 3rd party guy. Without that there is no fuel or payload calcs. And then you need to get your hands on a Simbrief profile that some other 3rd party guy has hacked together.  And then you enter all this in the sim and the weights are never correct anyway. It's a big mess!

I have more faith in the Working Title app where everything is integrated in one neat interface.  And LIDO charts are arguably better charts also. And you can plan your flight on a tablet separately from Flight Sim.

After four years and a huge number of free upgrades and improvements, I would not expect a discount.

I guess that is why almost everyone uses Simbrief. 😉

He said as much in the FSElite interview. He said Navigraph are specialists so they won't be able to keep up with everything they do but as I said earlier, for a lot of people, they won't have to. The one thing I'll miss is weather radar right on the map. I don't think the WT solution will have that.

That's just him speaking nice. Which is fine.  Weather radar wasn't shown during FSExpo. But I would bet it comes eventually.  They are probably working on this feature and not finished yet.  We know they are working on a Weather Radar(?)  I am sure it will be an overlay for the route planner map too.  Look how many improvements WT are doing!  it will happen!

Yeah I wouldn't put it past them to be honest. They might see the weather overlay as something essential. Annotations though......maybe not so much.

yes, i think , the more money they make form it the more chance of keeping up the improvements, continuous development.

besides that i think it was dirt cheap for 4 years of fun.

Fair enough. 🙂
