August 11, 20241 yr Hi MD-11 drivers, A question as I did my first full flight yesterday. in the MD-11.... I was on descent to EDDK and I got the message to "Add drag". For the life of me I could not figure out how to move the spoiler handle. If I left-click the handle with the mouse it activates the arming of the spoiler for landing that allows you to pull the handle vertically up, but with trying to drag the handle with the mouse and a variety of other things I tried, I could not move the spoiler into any of the intermediate spoiler positions on the throttle quadrant, like 1/3 or 1/2 deployed. Anyone know how to do this with a mouse or keyboard command?? thx! August 11, 20241 yr Just another info. 2nd flight today flying EDDK to EGPH and VRAM consumption using 2048 textures was a max of 7.5Gb on my PC. This employs the workaround I posted in a previous post above. So far I do not see VRAM consumption maxing out above that level in P3Dv5.3 so far. The plane handled quite well with an ILS approach to Rwy 24. August 21, 20241 yr Ok, I opened a ticket with TFDi reporting that, after changing fuel quantities (something that needs to be done after using Quantum Leap for taking the spent fuel into account), the engines shut down in both v4 and v5. Their reply was just to go to their Discord to add a bug report. I dislike Discord AF. Anyway, I did as requested, and posted here: https://discord.com/channels/589851727373795331/127526662081373798 Next morning, my report was downrated to "Not a bug", and was simply given this reply: This has been asked before, and it's not something that TFDi currently support. They've said they can investigate it as a future feature, but as it stands at the moment, inflight re-fuelling is not possible. The funny thing is that the 717 (which I have) supports "inflight re-fuelling". If that's the kind of customer service offered by TFDi, I have no desire of purchasing any of their next products 😤 Uninstalling the MD-11. $70 down the drain... Hi Luis, I can understand your frustration, but may be hold out some hope since other users were also requesting some type of ability to change the fuel in-flight. I am not sure if this will solve your specific issue. BTW, the fuel consumptions seem to be way off in the sim based on fuel predictions from Simbrief and other flight planners I have used to verify the Block Fuel. I am landing with 14 tons of fuel if not more. Also the Alternate Fuel does not work correctly in the MCDU. Having said that, I am quite disappointed in the lack of working functionality in the MD-11. I expected a lot more from TFDI, but feel rather let down on the quality and a number of basic features that are still missing or not working correctly in the product today given the price of the product. I have flown 3 flights so far ( I swapped my RTX 3070 for a RTX 4070 Super which was already a planned purchase) and while all have been successful without VRAM issues, the latest obstacle was to find out that it only flies the programmed HOLD one time and then promptly exits the pattern even though the MCDU indicates its still in the hold. Where was the quality control for this software product? They had how many years of development to get this right???😒 This will most likely be the last TFDI product I buy too 🤨, so I do share your sentiments above. August 25, 20241 yr For those having fuel issues I recall reading the following change log a while back. It appears fuel burn /usage is not modeled accurately (at all?) as in the release version you could actually run out of fuel and the plane would keep flying. As in no flame outs. They fixed this particular issue but it put me off buying the ac, instead continuing with my ancient pmdg bird in fsx. https://fselite.net/content/tfdi-design-updates-md-11-to-v1-07/ Russell Gough SE London
