Installing MSFS 2020 on a New PC (Didn't Uninstall From Old)

Featured Replies

Long story short, my old PC died. I have a new one coming in. Will there any issues installing MSFS 2020 on my new PC without uninstalling from my previous PC (because I can't)?

Thanks,

Dave

No issues at all Dave.  You can have MSFS installed on as many PCs as you like so long as you only use it on one PC at a time.  MS knows who you are, where you are and whether you have a licence when you log on.

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

Wonderful, thank you very much! one less thing I need to worry about 🙂

Did an install on a brand-new computer myself last weekend and was pleasantly surprised to discover it even brought my controller configuration over from my old machine.  Saved me hours of setup I was not looking forward to.

If you have a way to read the Hard Drive that you original installed the main MSFS content to you can copy that to the new computer and skip most of the install process.

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.
