July 6, 20241 yr Well, since I had gained some good positive energy from the experiences with the PMDG 773 I decided to give this North Pole crossing a test. Picked the C206 Caravan, placed myself around N88 and started flying from there towards N90, monitoring position and FPS through the Developer Mode displays... Well, first thing I noticed when approaching more & more N90, actually right after starting around N88 was that the aircraft flew a LOT more on rails than usual... even more ... and, NO, the AP was not switched on.... Then came the variations in FPS, ranging from my default 30 FPS towards sometimes 6 FPS ! then at times back to 30, then 14-12-10-9-8-6.... Never crashed though even when crossing N90, as good as I could because the aircraft at a given moment, past N89,5, started flying straight & level and in perfect coordination although describing a spiral .... This was a BIG disappointment 😕 What the heck did ASOBO do ? And, btw, YES it works perfect in XP12 .... No it is NOT PERFECT in XP12 either, with a sudden drop in FS around 89.98 but it recovers and does cross the North Pole. I seriously hope they fix this for 2024 !!! Not being able to do cross-Polar flights / routes in a 2024 flight simulator, is ridiculous to say the least....
