Is the PMDG 777 a superior ADDON to the PMDG 737?

Maybe if PMDG did not have to waste time removing all of the knives from their collective back, they may actually have a chance to release updates more quickly?

    I get that it's your opinion but there are worlds between a 767 or a 747-400 and a 787.

  • No they absolutely did not, there is so much about the product, other than the visual model, that is recycled from the fsx version.  They introduced nothing new or groundbreaking systems wise (think f

  • Well I have all the 737’s and now the T7.  In my mind, if you fly one Boeing you’ve flown them all.  Quality wise the planes are all top notch.  Can’t be disappointed with them for form and function b

🤣

That one was Great! Chris 🙂

Well, as far as I can be concerned, I can say I am enjoying this 773, pretty much...

I am yet to be able to test some tricky RNAV approaches to see how the new LNAV and RF implementations go... I hope to get satiosfied with it... Will see...

As far as the C*u implementation is concerned, I can say I like it. The A/T though surges sometimes in a rather abrupt way, and I have seen the autoflight system bringing the speed dangerously into the barber pole on a couple of occasions, but I couldn't reproduce it afterwards... Could have been due to weather (?)

I believe it when I see it. They said that it is planned but not in the foreseeable future as their focus right now is on other products. It would not be the first time that PMDG changed direction. Porting features over to the 737 might not be as easy as simply copying the code over and I can’t believe that PMDG will invest heavilly into another developpment cycle for the 737. That will not make them any money. Most likely they will have to make the 737 compatible with 2024 anyway somewhere down the road and we will have to pay an upgrade price to get the 2024 version’s 737s including the promised backported 777 features. But knowing PMDG’s track record that is probably not going to happen anytime soon. After all it took them more than a year to developp a simple three page tablet.

I guess they will bring the new LNAV and navdata to the 737MAX next, which is said to arrive between the 777 variants. Everything else will be a big disappointment. I'm not sure when it will be backported to 737NG, though.

cheers,

I spent some time this morning testing LNAV with MADEIRA RNAV (AR) Z 05 and also a couple at Kathmandu, and the 777 performed beautifully !

There are, as I mentioned before, a few circumstances, not related to LNAV I guess, under which the autoflight system brings speed very close to the barber pole, close enough to trigger the aural alerts.

Then I have only one quirk, which may well be a problem with me not knowing how to correctly perform the operation - refueling through the AUTO GROUND OPS...

AUTO GROUND OPS work ok as far as all other services go, but fuel never gets loaded 😕
