7.8.5 issues with lights (FIXED Aug 3)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

as discussed in the other topic, here a new one to cover the issues identified with the lights.

Here is an example video. It stopped working the last 2 days and its almost for every live traffic that light shortly shows up and disappears again. The plane on the left is ok but the ones a bit more in the background are not.

The same also happens when the traffic is taxiing

MSFS Traffic light issue (youtube.com)

I also tried traffic with the FSLTL injector, and there the lights are correctly on. Is there a way, I could run an older PSXT version to check if it worked there?

I can concur that I have seen the same thing the last couple of days.

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce your issue.

At EHAM and KBOS in the dark, I see no problems.

The code that sets lights has not changed over the last years.

You cannot run older versions, I'm afraid.

The only thing I can recommend is to re-install your AI traffic packages(-s).

But maybe it is better to wait a few days to see if more people see this.

Are you guys talking about PSXT or PSXTraffic?

Please check 7.8.5 first before posting.

I tried both, PSXT and PSXTraffic.

I tested at 2 airports, eddf and eddm now. Both have the same issues. Also tried with and without FSLTL. But let me try to reinstall FSLTL models

Running 7.8.5 version doesnt help. In daytime conditions at airports static planes at the gates have nav lights on however for live aircraft the nav lights flicker on and off for a min while taxiing and then go out permanently. For some reason this just started happening in last couple of days

Hi,

I use PSXT since long time with FS TRAFFIC that has the best aircrafts lights

I confirm this issue since PSXT Update dont know why.

Specially traffic taxiing without light and also in cruise short traffic no light like before.

There is an issue please investigate.

Would it be possible to do a rollback to 7.8.3, I think this was the last version where it was working, just to check if it is the root cause

No that's not possible, I am afraid, see my top fixed post in this Forum....

Hi, in the last days i only fly during daytime.

but after i read this topic i took a flight in the night and i cannot see any lights on taxi or landing aircrafts

Yes confirm thats a common issue.

Nico need to investigate this way.

During night and controlled flight become specially dangerous with this issue.

Thank you.

Agreed, I think the lighting bug was introduced in the build that fixes a longstanding SimConnect bug (not sure what it is though; not described in the change log).

Just speculation; but it seems like every SimConnect call resets the light state, then applies the light state, creating the flickering effect

Unfortunately it’ll be in this state until the 30th when Nico’s back. It would really be nice to have the ability to have two rings of versions (beta and production) so that we can rollback in times like this rather than relying on forward fixing.

I think this is great idea
To have a stable well developed version and then Beta for those who enjoy beta testing
I wish we could also roll back to features that have been abandoned like flyover feature
