7.8.5 issues with lights (FIXED Aug 3)

Recommended Posts

it’s quite established that there is a hickcup with lighting
The difficulty is that it doesn’t affect all the planes and so some people think there is no problem
Let’s wait for Nico to come back from vacation and I can guarantee you next day it will be fixed

Installing the latest C++ version also didn't fix it. It is still broken. This bug makes it unusable by night unfortunately.

Pls read, you do not have to install C++. I am talking about this, see the manual 1.1:

·         Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2022

Install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2022, version 17, architecure x64.

It can be downloaded here at Microsoft (scroll down to Download Visual C++ Redistributables). Run VC_redist.x64.exe

Hi guys,

Back home again.

I thought this thread would have exploded. But sofar I count only some10 users that (report) to have lights problems,  out of 500- 700?

Will surely investigate it this week, but I doubt it is a PSXT issue.

This light problem popped up after I (almost) fixed the Simconnect problems causing PSXT to restart, at least I have not see a restart in 4 days of testing before my holiday. I was wondering if you guys have seen a restart caused by a SimConnect problem jast week?

I will try but think I have it already installed.

So the flickerin lights is an issue with simconnect you said. May be thats the reason of all.

I confirm the pb still exist ans by night you can not see planes around you like before because no lights.

I try without mods. no change.

Haven’t seen any of these issues at all on my end and this area has improved considerably.

Only outstanding issue on my end is just light flickering symptoms on most aircraft on the ground when a plane is in motion or in the air.

Visual C++ libraries were also up to date for me when I encountered this issue

I can confirm I have the flickering lights or no lights at all issue as well. Some planes do have lights, some don't some flicker whilst landing or taking off.

Exactly the same for me. I almost always fly in daylight so I don't pay attention to aircraft lights, but last night I flew a night flight and all airliners that I saw had this light problem. Lights turn off just before touchdown and stay of on rollout and taxi. Airliners taxiing out have flickering lights if they have lights at all.

Nico,

I highly doubt that however many users you have, that they would come on here en masse to express their observations due to the increased flickering. I do know that there is an issue with the AIG models and the lights in general (such that there is a AI Traffic Lights Fixer app that was developed by a user - https://discord.com/channels/533614543650160640/961664461381447731/1265468665029984327), but this flickering issue seems to arise whether you use that utility or not. As such, I am inclined to agree that there is something that changed in the recent version(s), possibly because of the Simconnect change.

Welcome back Nico

My observations over past weeks is that planes that dont have a flight number have no issue with lights taxiing or in the air however airliners at the gates will have nav lights on but as soon as they pull away from the gate the lights go out and then flicker on for a second and then go out again. In the air they are never on. I did see one 767 with all the lights on taxi and take off just like it suppose to only difference I noticed on nav graph was the plane had no flight number assigned to it. Most ga aircraft also have no flight number assigned to them and they dont seem to be effected by this bug. I have no idea why this is but it seems weird that ga aircraft are fine and the airliners have this problem
