Hi

I refer to this very nice guide

and I wonder if this is basically still valid after the AIG major model update in August 2023. I have an old version, would like to update it and I see that the software is much more user friendly now. However, I want to be sure that the settings in MSFS are the same as before:

"Launch MSFS and set Aircraft Traffic Type to Off (so NOT to AI Online or Offline!), AI Aircraft Traffic Density to 50 (or whatever you like), Ground Aircraft Density to 0 (to avoid random traffic!) and Use generic aircraft models (AI traffic) to Off."

Could you please confirm it to me?

THX

Should still be valid, I however do not understand the point regarding "AI Aircraft Traffic Density" because it does not have any impact on AIG traffic but controls the amount of AI traffic injected by MSFS itself. And this you basically do not want, AIG AIM even asks you to disable the default .bgl controlling the MSFS traffic when firing up the GUI.

the latest AIG Model update was just a few days ago - a complete overhaul of all models, including some more performance impreovements 😉 The overall suggestions to disable any default AI Traffic remain, we even suggest nowadays to disable services for AI airplanes via the AIM settings as well, because AIGTC will take care of those now 🙂

Hi

thanks for the reply.

You know the result of AIG traffic is fantastic. I like the quatlity and variety of aircrafts and the tool performance, really top AI traffic generator, I think the best. Many thanks for that!!! I have been using it for many years. It is only the way to install it that it is kind of "unpaved road". I am dealing now with corrupted files and have to install everything again. I was looking for some guidance and so on. There are many youtube videos and a manual that cover some parts. I would appreciate to have some official guide covering everything from AIG to MSFS. I wonder also if it would not be possible somewhen to upload the 40-60GB aig-aitraffic-oci-beta file in some cloud to short the whole process of downloading aircrafts.

Thx!

@Kaiii3 Thank you as always for all the work you do!

Quick question, is there anything that can be done to speed up the launch of AIGTC?  On my machine which is fairly powerful it takes at least 5-10 minutes for TC to launch.  It is the only reason I defaulted back to MSFS live traffic using AIG models.

Not sure what is transpiring as it loads but between AIGTC and MSFS loading times it can be 15 minutes just waiting for them both to load.

Thank you!!!

it depends on PC and users needs. In my case I have some stutters and freezing with FSLTL and it demands more FPS.

Not really a valid comparison...  It would have to be what's the benefit of buying a Toyota Prius over getting a BMW 540 for free... 😉

I fly mostly out-of-sync with real time because I prefer to fly in daylight. Since FSLTL is realtime there isn't much traffic then, and many airports I fly to hardly don't have much traffic at night, if at all.

This could be related to those that use a modified traffic.bgl where all the non-GA traffic is removed. Since AIG (and every other alternative) concentrates on airline traffic the world would be bereft of General Aviation.

not possible because of copyright

it is set to load as fast as possible - using as much CPU as it can get. If you change regular Scenery files this can slow down the process since TC reads different files on each startup to see if there are any scenery changes (this is something we will change soon) - my TC loads up in around 3-4 miunutes and is up even before MSFS is laoded.

Thats not fully true. We have added quite a lot of GA airplanes already, focus over the last months was adding Business Aviation stuff, and with Eric we have a dedicated Team Member for those flightplans. For the smaller private GA traffic we are currently working on adding more and more, so far we have some areas in the UK and in the US as well as many smaller regional operators like flight-schools - more will follow in the next months 🙂

Interesting... You load them both simultaneously?  I have always loaded AIGTC first then once it is up I loaded MSFS hence the compounded load time.
