The new default GNS is the WT version, and it should pick up the flight plan from the World screen.

Can you load a fpl in any other aircraft that has GNS?

OK. False alarm on the first "got it solved".  This afternoon it was not working again. Spent a frustrating hour before my brain light came on! Attempting to use Simbrief pln file, then frustrated I tried LittleNavMap pln file.  No Joy! This was happening specifically with the Blacksquare Analog Baron.

The BkSq Baron has some options for avionics configuration. One option is a TDS GTN 750|Default GNS430, which I prefer to use.  Another is a GNS 530|GNS430, both MSFS defaults.  The BKSq Baron's GTN|GNS option does not work for bringing a pln flight plan into the GNS.  For MSFS to pass the pln flight plan to the BkSq Baron's GNS(s), the model's GNS 530|430 option needs to be the configuration when the flight is started. I have now tested this several times.

Here is the workaround if you wish to pass the pln file through and use the GTN750|GNS430 configuration.  First. Start any flight with the BkSq Baron.  Set the avionics configuraton to the GNS530|GNS430 option using the toggle switch at the far right of the instrument panel.  The BkSq Baron avionics configuration is persistent. The state you leave this aircraft in when ending a flight is the state it will be in when you next start a flight with it.  Return to the World Screen and load the pln.  Start the saved pln flight. Once the GNS's are up awake in the BkSq Baron and the flight plan is verified in place in the two GNS gauges, move the toggle switch to the GTN / GNS position. The TDS GTN will appear and replace the GNS530 and will be ready to initialize.  The GNS430 will stay live and will retain the flight plan.  You must have the BkSq Baron's engines started before booting up the avionics.  Otherwise the engine starting will restart the avionics and you will have to repeat this process.

Note that you must have the same plan saved as a gfp file for import into the TDS GTN.  MSFS does not pass the plan to TDS.  Not certain about the PMS GTN as I do not have that one.

My routine with both the BlkSq Duke and Baron will be to reselect the twin GNS configuration option before exiting after completing each flight.  That way the persistence is in place for the next flight.

As a point of information, I had the same problem with the Black Square Duke.  Couldn't load a flight plan into the default GNS 530.  I believe this started after SU 15.. Solved the problem by switching to the free PMS GTN750.

Read my most recent post and see it what I found applies to the BkSq Duke.  I only have the Turbine Duke and fly it with TDS GTN 750 | 650.

Same soluton works for the BkSq Turbine Duke.  This is from the Turbine Duke.  Configure the model for the two GNS gauges. Exit back to the World Screen.  Start the flight with the pln file.   Once the flight plan is verified in both GTNs, use the Duke's tablet to change the GPS options.  Wait until after starting the Duke's engines  or the avionics will be restarted and you will need to repeat the sequence.  Again, you will need to separately load a gfp file into the GTN 750.  I can do so for the TDS GTN. Do not know about the PMS GTN.

My routine with both the Duke and Baron will be to reselect the twin GNS configuration option before exiting after completing each flight.  That way the persistence is in place for the next flight.

This is from the BlkSq Turbo Duke after following the sequence.

I'll try it... Thanks.

The TDS 750/650 addon is GOD-TIER programming IMO. Just load up the trainer on your PC anytime, before flight or during coffee break if you want. Program in your complete flight, runways, sids, stars the lot and save it (SELECT "STORE").

Then later on when in sim in ANY plane with the PRIMARY TDS unit just go flight plan CATALOG and there it is. You can also create in NG or LNM and export to the correct folder then import but the old school way means no invalid waypoints.

It just works every time and so much easier to plan a complex route on pc with maps and charts available in other windows.

Agree... you are dealing with the "real unit".  The original Garmin code works both for real world pilots and for sim pilots 🙂

TDS has done a great job integrating it into MSFS.

Fuilly agree. Point here is that will get the only get the plan into the TDS in the Blacksquare Baron and Duke, and neither have a dual 750/650 option. Getting a plan into the GNS is the solution discovered here.  To reduce duplicate effort for these two Blacksquare models the tools are Simbrief or Littlenavmap, which will export both gfp and pln files from one flight planning session.  For aircraft using only the TDS the method using the related TDS addon certainly applies.
