Lower FPS in 2D panels?

Recommended Posts

Guest

I'm giving FSX another go in optimizing it and fixing the issues I have with it and so far I've had some luck. However, I've run into an oddity in that I get higher FPS in the default 737 VC then in 2D. VC average: 462D average: 36The situation is CYVR/RW26/Fair WeatherSystem is an E6600 at 3.3ghz, 8800GT 512, 2GB RAM, 320gb SATA drive and I'm using the latest Nvida WinXP 32bit drivers 169.21Nhancer is at Supersampling 4xS+Gamma correction/16XAFAnyone have an idea of whats going on here?

I've noticed this in a number of aircraft: VC provides better, in some cases significantly better, framerates than the 2d cockpit.Quite a change from what I recall in FS9.Q6600, 8600GTS with 163.71 drivers.

Greetings!I've been away from flight simming and AVSIM for a few months, but I certainly remember the experience of VC running faster than 2D! I also noticed that the speed relation between both modes is strongly influenced by the screen resolution, although NOT necessarily in the sense of "higher resolution = slower VC" and "lower resolution = faster VC". There seem to be other factors involved, but the OP is absolutely right: sometimes VC is faster than 2D.Be well!Jaap Verduijn.
