AIGROUND / AIFLOW Issue

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I heard that there were new versions of the above software available. The instructions said to completely uninstall the old files and download and unzip the new files.

Well, I did that. However, clicking either .exe file causes a momentary hourglass followed by nothing. Nothing ever opens. I have not used the programs in quite a while so I am wondering if something changed.

I thought first MSFS had to be up first. So I brought it up but same thing. Then I thought maybe I have to have a traffixc simulator running so I brought up FSTL and got traffic going. But still nothing from AIFLOW and AIGROUND.

Any ideas. I have done all kinds of Windows checking, updates, rebuild core files, etc. Need a new idea from someone.

Thanks in advance,

Rob

Hi, it is starting to the system tray by default.  Go to the tray, right click on the program icons, and select "restore console."  I probably should change the default to just run minimized.  Update out tomorrow with that and some other fixes.  Also, I would use the config utility to configure/launch AIFlow/AIGround.

I don't follow. I don't see an icon in my system tray for the tool.

open and check in task manager

I just watched Task Manager while clicking the .exe file for both AIFLOW and AIGROUND. There was no change for either.

AIFLOW, AIGROUND, and the configuration utility do nothing when clicked. They don't display anything on the screen and they don't show up in the task manager. Have no idea what's going on.

mine didn't show up initially on screen it was in the background but when i checked the task manager it showed as running.

hopefully you get it working.

I did notice an initial quick flash on my screen upon starting it, sort of like the command prompt starting in the background.

It was not in the background for me. Task Manager showed nothing starting with the letters "AI". I am really stuck with this. Don't know where else to look.

When will new version be available to us? Thanks. I am hoping it will fix my trouble since I can't even get the programs to open. And they are not in the task list.

Hi,please download the new version AIFlow2250_AIGround2270_ConfigUtil102.  There was a bug in the older config util that prevented the user from disabling the tray option.  Also, you can add this to the .ini file for both AIFlow and AIGround manually:

SystemTrayActive=0 //set BEFORE starting, 0 no tray, 1 tray, 2 tray&hide console
StartMinimized=0 //1 console minimized on start

That should cause the output console window to start in a normal size window without being minimized and without being put into the system tray.

Please let me know it that fixes the error.  If not, it could be a .Net support file issue.  The config util uses .Net Core 3.1, which is an older version that should be installed on most Win10 machines and later.  If not however, the support files can be downloaded from an official Microsoft.com site: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/3.1
