New version 2.2 of LSFG

Thanks, I've been limiting framerates in NCP in the "Program Settings" of NCP. I'll try RTSS instead.

Try the “front edge sync” option. A lot of people on Avsim have the best result with this in terms of frame time variation.

I have been unable to stack native series 4000 FG on top of LSFG. I have to use one or the other. If I use both, fps nosedives to about 5-10 fps and stutters ruin the sim. This is with every version of LSFG.

That’s interesting. I’ve always used DX12 and native FG as the baseline before adding LS. But every time the fps falls below the RTSS-locked fps, I get bad stutters. Example: I lock fps to 50 then double with LS. If fps falls to 48/96, I see stutters.

It’s not a problem in remote areas without AI. But in these situations I don’t need LS 🤷🏻‍♂️

Well...one advantage of locking frames at 30 and upscaling is there is a ton of headroom on the GPU, so DLDSR at 2.25x works beautifully. I'm absolutely fine with 60 FPS using LSFG with minor artifacting at 2x, but super crisp graphics. Not 100% sure if the front edge sync thing is actually doing anything though. I do have VSYNC in the NVCP set to "fast." Not sure if that's doing anything or not tbh.

OH and it's been updated to 2.2.1 to help with the artifacting at night while using HDR!!!

Quote

2.10.2 released
- Reduction of LSFG artifacts on patterned textures and in dark scenes, especially noticeable when HDR is enabled.
- LS1 sharpening correction, now the value 0 should match the original. Improved colors with HDR.
- Added Portuguese and Serbian translations

Can please someone shed some light on the "Windowed Mode" option?  Whether I have it ticked or not MSFS still enters a full-screen environment after clicking Scale.

Awesome, just updated going to test, the patterns on the terminal at KEWR always flicker with LS so this should be a good test!

Thank you for the heads up!

Edit:  Immediate improvement.  Noticeable right away

For anyone not familiar with DLDSR, there is an option called DSR Factors right below the 2 lines starting with CUDA in Nvidia Control Panel options list. But sometimes DSR Factors isn't listed there. Several days ago I put a section in "Tips" forum about how to make the DSR Factors option show up there. What the option does when enabled is to force MSFS to list higher resolution option choices than the monitor's native resolution.

With my system I can sometimes get away with 1.75x but never 2.25x. (1.75 times 2560x1440).

Wow, significant difference with this latest version.  Much better in terms of artifacts and much smoother simultaneously.  Haven't seen any downsides yet only improvements.

Tonight I flew one flight in UK from one airport to 8 others in the same flight. Using the new LSFG. Glorious! But they were the Skerries and Shetland addon airports from flightsim.to, Orbx, and Asobo. Asobo made Outer Skerries.

Some of the addon strips were short and grass in the Shetlands, so I used the new payware Cub which only has 60 horsepower. Which can land on half the length of a very short strip and then continue straight out and take off using the other half !

Easy for me to see why these original engine Cubs were such a favored bushplane !

Out of interest, for those that are doing stacking of native FG and LSFG, what hertz monitor/screen are you running? With that level of  FG you must be seeing FPS in the 120+ range. I presume you're all using monitors that can display that rate?

I think with my 60hz TV's thats one of the challenges, 60 FPS is the most I'd expect to see on my 60hz TV....

If you type a "frame rate limit" in the box it will disappear soon. Use the teeny up and down hours to set it, and it will stay.

first time trying this.  Seems like it has a hard time with long stutters.  NYC is very heavy normally but I'm a glutton for punishment and have samscene rk bridger JFK EWR and LGA addons. So dipping below 20 and the occasional long stutter is a very real possibility.

When that happens LSFG just hangs on the last image while MSFS recovers and keeps going.  I need to unscale in order to keep flying.  Happened on final under a mile out at EWR in the 777-300ER. talk about white knuckle!
