August 18, 20241 yr Hi all, so as the title says RC4 stops working and I constantly get the message linked in the title. When I try and click ok it takes like 20 seconds then just repeats the error message over and over, rendering RC4 inoperable till it's quit and reset (and I don't even know how to reset it when in flight). This seems to happen most often with the QW787 as other aircraft like the PMDG 777 don't have this problem as often, though it does occur. The stuff I've found on the web hasn't been the most helpful, so I was wondering if there was a solution. Furthermore this issue doesn't even consistently appear with the QW787 so it's gonna take a few tests to identify if any fixes were helpful. My Sim is P3D 5.3 V2, and I use AIG AI traffic, outside of that I only use Toronto as my payware addon, and I don't believe this is an add on airport issue as this problem tends to come up during cruise, specifically when using the QW 787 flying outbound of certain airports, but even then which ones aren't consistent. Thanks all. Signed Jon.
August 18, 20241 yr Moderator At what point does this message appear? When starting RC or later? Check you have the latest version of FSUIPC. Rebuild the Scenery Database. Fly a couple of times with a default aircraft just to eliminate third party ones but that shouldn’t be the problem. I’ve searched for that error and virtually nothing has come up. Very strange. August 18, 20241 yr FSUIPC offset D008 is a timer value that's used in two types of queries, one for active runway info at an airport, the other for AI traffic ID. Apparently the timer has stopped updating after RC4 makes one of those types of queries. I'd start by installing/re-installing the latest version of FSUIPC6...if that doesn't work, then turn off AI and see if that solves it. Also, if you're running RC using WideFS across a network, it could be networking issues as well. John Dowson might be able to give you some help in further troubleshooting on his FSUIPC support forum, if necessary. August 21, 20241 yr Author I'll give these suggestions a try. Though I am curious if it is AI what can be done about it, as I do like flying with my AI traffic. Maybe if the other suggestions don't work I can try and fix the AI directly rather than fly without it, especially cause the crashes aren't consistent meaning it will likely take multiple tries to get a repeat, which will also contribute to my delay in replying to this topic. It only comes up later in the flight, never right at the beginning or even during the early portions like take-off. Normally during cruise or climb out. I think I have the latest version of FSUIPC, version 6 I believe? I don't think its third party ones, cause it can occur in any of them though the 787 is a bit more frequent. I'll try to update the airport database before flight each time and see if that helps. Jon. Edited September 7, 20241 yr by FSXCYYZEGLL
September 7, 20241 yr Author Well updated the Airport Database and it had the same issue just at TOC and stopped working. So the airport database update doesn't do it. I'll try to reinstall FSUIPC 6 next and see if that helps, maybe some wires got crossed somewhere. Jon.
September 7, 20241 yr Moderator @FSXCYYZEGLL, V6 of FSUIPC has several updates. Get the latest here. https://forum.simflight.com/topic/80977-updated-modules/ Then get the latest MakeRwys from here. https://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/ Run MakeRwys and then update RC4 database. You’ll then be in the same situation as me other than running v5.4. I’m on 5.3HF2. Ray (Cheshire, England). September 19, 20241 yr Moderator @FSXCYYZEGLL, after updating MakeRwys did you rebuild the RC database? UPDATE! I think I may have found a solution to your problem… https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/544348-fix-for-radar-contact-and-qw-787-fsuipc-error/ Hey Ray. Yeah I updated the RC database after MakeRwys. I tried the solution you found, for a flight to Heathrow. The initial flight there worked fine, but there were issues on the way back and it crashed as I climbed unfortunately. However I've edited the TrafficStallTime=10 instead of 5, hopefully that may help. Testing a flight at the moment. Do you know what traffic stall time and the 2 entries underneath it mean in FSUIPC? And why it appears to not play nice with RC4 sometimes? Signed Jon.
September 24, 20241 yr Moderator @FSXCYYZEGLL, you need to ask the question to John Dowson here… https://forum.simflight.com/forum/30-fsuipc-support-pete-dowson-modules/ LATER: Just checked mine and I have TrafficStallTime=1, InitialStallTime=10; NormalStallTime=1.
