Yes the differences do seem to be small - but they all up and what you sometimes find is that they help when you need it most: not so much by adding to the "max" FPS, as by increasing the "min" FPS so that you get better smoothness overall. But it's also a bit of a rabbit hole when you get into it in detail. For example, the marketing these days has persuaded everyone to focus on the headline RAM speed (eg 6000Mhz) and, maybe, the first CAS setting for latency (30 seems to be the best available right now: itself disappointingly slow) - while quietly turning the command rate down to T2: quite a big drop from T1. The result is that latency is worse than it "should" / "could" be for these high headline speeds - and MSFS is one of those rare apps where it might actually count 🤓🤓 14900ks, RTX4090, 64Gb@6000-30-36-36-T2, Samsung 990Pro 2Tb , Dell G3223Q 32" 4k Gsync + 27" secondary monitor. August 27, 20241 yr I work with videos and audio so my needs are different but... Built pc 2016 with 64gb ram. In my spare time fsx ran very smooth especially considering I was multi tasking it with an fps game AND Adobe lightroom editing same session. Next pc 2024. 96gb ram. Can run msfs ultra smooth fps plus fps shooter and video editor same session (except render time obviously). I havent seen page file usage in 8 years now and task switching is lightning fast and smooth. The key point in my post is the multi tasking. Sims use addons and utilities running in background. It's never JUST the main sim you are running. I've never ever ever had a problem with too much ram, 8 years of not even worrying about worrying about it. Russell Gough SE London
