FSHUD 2.0 Voice Recognition

Featured Replies

Looks like voice recognition will finally be a part of FSHUD. Here is a video of it in action.

If the voice recognition works in tandem with the air traffic control of AI planes, then wouldn't FSHUD be the first ATC add-on that does both control of AI planes, and ATC voice recognition?

BeyondATC just does voice recognition at the moment but the AI traffic control has not been released yet.  This would mean FSHUD is capable of doing both, something that BeyondATC does not do at the moment (but will probably do soon, once the AI traffic control feature is released).

Isn't FSHud voice recognition still in beta? Hence, it's still possible that BATC will be be the first to offer the "complete package" - voice recognition and AI control. IIRC, BATC will only work with FSLTL, whereas FSHud will work with both FSLTL and AIG.

I guess when both are released officially, even if it's early access, FSHud and BeyondATC will be the first ATC add-ons that support both voice recognition and the controlling of AI traffic.  Both have a working demo on video, so the proof of concept is there.

I believe SayIntentions.AI is working on controlling AI traffic but they don't even have a demo or proof of concept yet.

BATC will work with any AI Traffic that's installed - FSLTL, FSTraffic, AIG... see: BeyondATC - AI traffic inbound - Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) - The AVSIM Community

My understanding is that BATC will use any AI models installed, but it will use its own snapshot of a real world day's traffic to schedule the AI, meaning it won't use FSLTL live traffic or AIG flight plans.

Live traffic ends exactly in the same moment the player starts interacting with it.

FShud chews up CPU performance now, should be worse with voice recognition.

Sorry for you! I don't have any issues with performance!

On the fshud discord they stated they found a way to decrease cpu usage. Performance should be improved in version 2.0

Hello everyone!

Currently, Beyond ATC offers speech recognition along with both a basic (free) voice package and a premium (paid) voice package. In the future, they plan to release traffic injection and controlling features as well.

FShud, on the other hand, has provided traffic control for quite long time, continuously updating and enhancing features like vectoring, separation, and full aircraft control from gate to gate. With the release of version 2, FShud has introduced voice features. Compared to Beyond ATC, FShud offers a mix of basic and premium voices, allowing you to use premium voices and accents free of charge! Additionally, they’ve now added voice recognition. When the next versions of FShud or Beyond ATC are released, these ATC tools will be fully "equipped" with all the necessary features!

Another great feature of FShud is its integration with Microsoft Flight Simulator's built-in window, along with the ability to launch it on your smartphone, tablet, or even another PC. This is incredibly useful for keeping my sim clean and free from additional windows, and it also enhances the experience in VR!

When choosing virtual ATC, it's important to expect comprehensive control, not just for yourself but for other aircraft as well. Personally, I’ve found FShud to be very useful, especially when there’s no control or traffic on VATSIM. Flying alone can be quite dull, and even if you can communicate with ATC and inject FSLTL, it still breaks immersion when Beyond ATC doesn’t recognize it.

What’s also cool is that FShud allows you to inject both FSLTL and AIG traffic if there isn’t enough in the area!

In terms of controls and radio operations, I find FShud more professional, as it supports both COMs, allowing you to switch and listen to any station.

Regarding performance, I don’t understand why some people complain about it. Perhaps they have issues with their system, drivers, or an older CPU. Personally, I haven’t experienced any performance problems—I fly with a maximum of 40 parking and 50 active aircraft and don’t even need to use the performance balancer!

Thank you FShud for continuing development!

But decided not to release this weekend but wait until v2 🤦‍♂️

Yeah, I know they had a poll in Discord. I voted for implementation in current version. Back to the waiting game...

BATC will work with whatever models / liveries you have installed, including AIG

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I love using FSHUD + FSLTL but the performance is not good with slowdowns and jerks even when using a balanced traffic percentage as soon as I activate the communication at the start of the flight . That's the reality of things. As soon as I turn it off, it's smooth as silk even while continuing to use FSHUD with its settings at maximum.

Please open a ticket from the application so we can see application logs.
This is not related to "common performance" issue - but more like something with audio playback device that could be connection flickering (we need to see logs to give more exact answer).

Thank you
