Arriving September Flysimware Sierra C24R

I haven't seen a problem with the trim but the variety of instrumentation (some of which I'm not familiar) seems to be a bit of a frame killer.

The digital clock is broken just one look tells you that so where were the beta testers?

Having been a fan of the developer for years , I'm surprised how this project looks like a release too soon. 

There are bugs but it's not my job to spend hours evaluating them. It reminds me of the early SWS PC12.

Overall fun to fly.  Brings back lot's of memories!  I'm hearing a constant sound like a bird chirping and another rattle of some kind ... maybe I left a seat belt hanging out the door!  But overall very well done and the developer is first rate.

I took it up for a spin yesterday after purchase.  The only notable I had was unfortunately, negative.  Is anyone else having issues with IAS for climb?  For me yesterday it would not sustain a pitch. It was as if it didn’t exist.  VS was fine.

Anyone else?

EDIT:  Must have been a first day gremlin as today the plane holds pitch and speed with no issue in IAS.  Yesterday I was obsessing over IAS and did not bother to check out and enjoy the plane.  It’s sweet!  FSW never disappoints!

I think that's the throttle lever sound.  Something isn't quite right there, if you move the throttle lever it bird chirps and squeaks at you too long, as if the sound event is getting toggled multiple times.

The Sierra has been updated to ver 1.1.0 on the Flysimware and SimMarket stores.  As usual, I expect MarketPlace updates will take longer.

Updates:
1. Gear down has more drag.
2. Flight dynamics update. Important airframe data was missing from the master flight_model.cfg file.
3. Directional Gyro was removed from the electrical system.
4. Idle rpm is now slightly under 700 RPM.
5. G-force velocity and crash velocity was updated.

Bugs:
1. Horsepower percent fixed on the CGR30-P engine display.
2. Turning the instrument lights to off the CGR30 engine units no longer displayed. Fixed.
3. Resolved the conflict between the avionics master switch and the avionics circuit breaker switch.
4. Removed the small white (sugar cube) mesh box between the front seats.
5. Resolved low idle voltage from 10v to 12.2V.
6. The GTN650 and GTN650Xi knobs and buttons are fixed.

Thanks for the update specifics. Sadly, I'll have to wait for it since I got it from the Marketplace. The day after purchasing, I got the e-mail from Flightsimware announcing the airplane. I should have waited I guess.

I have had lots of trouble with the trim as well.  I got my PPL in a Beech Musketeer 19 Sport, not the Sierra.  However, there is never a time when I am full back trim in the airplane.  This planes trim is way off.  In the Sport I can trim the  plane nicely, this thing is always buried beyond the white zone of operation.  Hopefully they fix it.

Do you have "rudder assist" on in the Assistance options? I found turning that off solved the trim problems I was having.

Is there a trim indicator somewhere?  I'll have to look for it.

I've been pretty busy lately, finally finished a paint for this thing.  With the latest FSW updates, the C24R is a really great addon!  Firstly they addressed the silly looking Asobo G5, and now it looks pretty close to the real one.  Basically, this is an excellent recreation of the real Beech Sierra.  The engine sounds are just right on.  The interior switch sounds are like identical to the components in the BE24 I fly.  Aside from the visuals being spot on as well, I really am enjoying the accurate flight model, along with the engine instruments (CGR30P).  I think I may keep flying the with half analog/half glass panel due to panel familiarity.  While it doesn't have the failures/wear and cylinder level depth, it still very much captures the feel of flying!  If you're on the fence or worried about it not being updated for MSFS 2024, don't be - the dev stated the updates are free of charge for 2024.

I was gonna ask you what you thought about it (particularly the flight model) but you beat me to it.

Do all Muskies/Sierra have this type of idler-link landing gear?  If so, I've read that in real life they can be a little bouncy on landing unless you really nail the speed perfectly (??)  is that your experience too?

Oh man you put me on the spot lol.  I was flying this aircraft fairly frequently about 2 years ago.  And then with life and everything I've barely flown.  I did fly a few weeks ago and boy was I rusty!  I had a decent crosswind and I bounced it and ended up going around.  (The second landing was awesome LOL).  But yes, I would say at least the musketeer is a touch bouncy especially if you're fast.  One big issue with the BE24 is that newcomers tend to porpoise the landings.  I don't know why that is, and maybe it's a sight picture thing, but when I first refreshed my private's license in this bird... it was rough.  I think I even had a few nose gear first touchdowns... and that's what leads to the porpoising.  And yes the entire musketeer family has the trailing link gear.  I think in theory its supposed to lead to a smoother touchdown... but I'd say I tend to be a touch fast on short final.  

I did do some stall work (in the sim) today - I just think its a touch too forgiving... I was able to get the horn blaring and still fly it onto the runway almost 5-10 knots lower than the end of the white arc.  I guess with a lighter load and a decent headwind thats for sure possible.  However, in the Sierra, the left wing did give me a sharp drop when I did a power on stall simulation, in the dirty config.  So I was pretty happy about that.  Irl I had a slight wing drop once on climbout in the musketeer... thankfully I had a good reaction to lower the nose a bit and fly as coordinated as possible and it was fine.  Lowering the nose when you're low to the ground feels so counter-intuitive, but I was glad I reacted properly.
