FSX Vista: DX10 Versus DX9 Video Essay

Howdy folks, Valk here with a simple video. I was not able to find much regarding the differences of DX9 and DX10 for FSX, so as a result I decided to put together a visual video essay so to speak. I utilized several different methods to give a good offering of what the differences are, however this is definitively not the end all be all for the subject and many others will find different results.This is a stock install of FSX with no addons with the exception of SP1 and THEN Acceleration.I hope this helps some of you folks out there who are on the shelf about Vista, DX10 and DX9 in regards to FSX.-CodyJaggyroad FilmsDivX High Resolution Download:http://www.savefile.com/files/1288183YouTube:

Strange: I have a very similar set-up, except I run at 1920x1200 and find that under DX10 I effectively receive bloom 'for free' whereas under DX9, performance drops by several frames.

Was it me or did DX9 look as good if not better than DX10 except for the water? weird

golfcart22, your computer looks to be pretty much spec'd out the way I'm planning to build one up... how does FSX run on your system with Vista 64 and 4 gigs?

Ranger,FSX runs great on my rig. FPS are very good considering how I run my graphics (See Screenshot) I have many add-ons installed as well, which all run very well together. Im running ASX, ASG, UTX, GEX, FEX, RadarContact4, and xPax. Of course, everyone sees a micro-stutter here and there but when the sim looks this good - who cares.
