We’re excited to announce that our next Developer Livestream is scheduled for September 25! In this stream, our panel of Jorg, Seb, and Martial will share more details about Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and start answering some of the most frequently asked questions we have collected from players since the initial reveal trailer last year. You don’t want to miss this broadcast! As always, you can watch it live on our official Twitch channel on Wednesday, September 25. If you’re unable to watch the broadcast as it occurs, we will also post the video to our YouTube channel within a day or two of the original Twitch livestream.

MSFS 2020 is already the most advanced flight simulator out there for the home market, so far ahead of anything else available. It's amazing that MSFS 2024 will improve on it. Look forward to seeing what they share at this Twitch Q&A.

I just hope there's lots of new details in there, I don't want to hear about Missions we already know about that, I don't want to hear about better details at ground level we already know about that etc etc.

Tell me what you've done with AI, ATC, Live Weather, Physics, how you'll improve Beta periods, how you'll improve Quality Control, how you've learnt lessons from mistakes and errors made with the current Sim etc #WishfulThinking!

I also notice there's no Question Form this time, so they'll cherry pick the questions that make them look good instead of answering the hard questions like;

"MSFS2020 has suffered from numerous server related issues this year, much more so than previously. Seeing as MSFS2024 relies even more on servers for streaming data, have you got plans to better cope with these issues and a Plan B when systems outside of your control go down as well as better preventative measures for systems within your control?"

Like to see them talk about that!

They should definitely drop the "Q" from the title of these events. There once was a transparent upvoting system, where everyone could see what the community is really interested in. Then they started to collect questions in their forums into an obscure process, and now we seem to have reached the point where they even may answer "questions" nobody has asked. Many will say "we hadn't had any communication with developers before, so this is much better". But this is very far from the dialogue of the early days, and "we here you" is a pretty empty phrase when the communication is limited in the way it is now.

I doubt that they will deal with a question like "Live weather shows the same approach you took with the stock airplanes and avionics in the beginning: visually and technically superior in theory, but somehow implemented simplisticly. Huge efforts were made with hiring the Working Title team and dedicated AAU-updates to massively improve stock aircraft and avionics. Will MSFS2024 bring similar efforts for Live Weather?"

Well, to be fair, in this case it‘s announced as a Developer Livestream and not a Q&A.

I suspect it will be more of a promotional event than a Q&A session (maybe with some questions from the chat), and that's fine with me. The sim isn't on the market yet and I guess they don't want to give away every detail, which is understandable from a marketing perspective. At this point, I'm just happy for every new detail they share. But I hope there will be proper Q&As again once the sim is released.

Pretty sure that the days of MSFS 2020 are over quiet soon. No matter what they claim regarding support, I am pretty sure that several bugs introduced or never fixed in MSFS 2020 will remain forever now.

If by 'home' you mean non professional, and for entertainment purposes only then you're probably right. I don't know xplane at all to give an educated opinion on.

MSFS is certainly the most likely to have superlatives associated with it by the largest number of home users ever involved in flight related entertainment software. That's a given!

If weather and physics stays the same, not interested.

This doesn't make any sense.  If the promised upgrades to lighting, ground textures and trees/grass/crops are true,  you would be getting an improved sim, even if weather and physics are the same.

I'm pretty sure that won't be the case. Asobe will quite rightly use it as a live testing ground for new features in 2024 that share the same code base.
