No word of it. Either they have to work on "implementing it" or they are taking their sweet time to change prices to pocket the new increased cash flow? lol

People say SayIntentions is too expensive. But its so nice to have unlimited AI voice usage and not have to think about your draining character limit. Especially when the computer doesnt understand you and keeps repeating and you just wasted 400 of your characters. When you compare it to using BATC with premium voices, it can be cheaper if you fly a lot. And they dont plan on changing prices with their traffic implementation.

I like the monthly unlimited use model as well.  It’s not for everyone, but for me I’d rather not have to think about cost each time I open the mic to talk.

As for the Maddog ACARS integration, just note that we are awaiting an aircraft update before this is functional.  So technically they are not “first” if another aircraft patches it in sooner 😜

You'd have to fly 3 times a day with BATC to come close to the subscription price of SI (EDIT: This will change now with traffic included into BATC, but then again SI has none)

Also BATC does not earn a single penny from premium voices, all money goes right to the provider. So if the provider reduces the price, the price will automatically reduce for BATC.

Well, I did say you have to fly a lot. One of the benefits of subscription models: Some people don't utilize it fully. Which means they can cover the cost of the people who do fly a lot and more. So I wont be surprised if they stay true to the belief that prices wont increase with traffic. Some people are out there paying 20 bucks a month but flying once a week. Or worse. They leave the subscription active while not using it at all for some months! Cash cows. This is the reality of any subscription service.

But I've tested it. Still the same amount of credits for the same cost, and I've just verified the cheaper prices for ElevenLabs are live with a big green 50% off when Turbo is selected, so you get double the amount of characters (which is what I'm assuming that both BATC and SI are using since its the only low latency option)

But yes they don't make money off of the voices. But with the recent price reduction by 50% and the fact that BATC site still uses the same old prices and gives the same old amount? Well, that money has to be going somewhere. And its not like our BATC accounts are linked directly to Elevenlabs. Elevenlabs sells their services to Beyond ATC. Not to us. If a company wants to keep prices the same while enjoying a 50% cost reduction. Thats on them. And sometimes the correct choice (For sayIntentions for example). I don't think BeyondATC wants to do this btw. Just trying to say that its not an "automatic reduction". They probably have to make the changes to how much characters they give us.

I'd hold off on buying any character credits until the prices get adjusted.

Saw this and it caught me by surprise. I was told directly by the lead developer of BATC (and yes, this is a word for word quote), "We make most of our money on the voices".   This was in direct response to a question I asked about why their product is only $30.

I remember it well because the comment took me off guard, because that's not what he's stated elsewhere. I asked again. He again confirmed.

This was at their booth, at FSEXpo in June, in a conversation with the owner of BATC.

So either he's lying to his customers, or he lied to me.

This explains why they've been so adamant about getting traffic out the door, when their product has thousands of pretty nasty bugs.... traffic = more voices = more money.

Obviously, there's no problem if they want to make money on the voices. That's a business decision. But LYING about it is next-level scummy.  (No question they're getting bulk pricing from EL and just pocketing the difference -- which is why they won't let customers bring their own EL keys).

Folks, I kindly ask you to start a new thread if you wish to discuss BATC and their pricing.  This thread is supposed to be about the Maddog integration with SI and ACARS.  Thanks.

Hi, I'm the owner of BATC. I don't know why you're choosing to accuse me of lying, which is a pretty bold thing to claim when you brought zero evidence to back it up.

No, I never said any of those things. No we don't pocket any money. It all goes to our voice provider and server ccosts. If you're going to accuse us of that please bring evidence next time.

Feel free to run the math yourself - all our numbers are posted on our website. You'll come up about 3 dollars short per transaction which covers our server costs.

We will not be updating our pricing because the elevenlabs discount does not apply to us as we have an enterprise contract deal with them which has been in place since last year and won't run out until the middle of next year. Please also note at the bottom of the elevenlabs page it says "this discount only applies to the Turbo modes of our service." We are not using many turbo voices as we need the multilingual service to render the voices with accents so the discount wouldn't have applied to us anyway.

But it would seem you were quicker to accuse me of lying than asking questions and trying to understand. So please stop spreading misinformation. As you so eloquently put it: it's lying and it's scummy.

Thanks

Agreed. Any more posts on pricing will be hidden. Start a new topic and make sure you can backup your claims with factual evidence in fairness to the developer.
