I have seen the videos for prerelease but have not seen reviews.  I am looking for someone that has bought this and compare it to the EDDF posted on FlightSim.TO?   Don't want to invest with out understanding the value.

There really is no comparison at this point, In my opinion.  Aerosoft EDDF is much more detailed and has an official GSX built in profile. The traffic file is as good as it can be for MSFS Traffic flows smoothly.  Aerosoft did take a few shortcuts here and there in out of the way places but it is still better in my opinion overall.  The question is whether you think that the improvement is worth 20 euro.  For me absolutely.  For instance Gaya/Asobo Munich is good but I still like the Simwings/Aerosoft version better.  If for instance you felt the Gaya version of EDDM is good enough then maybe you are fine staying with the VirtualFRA version of EDDF.

I did a FENIX A321 flight from A30 EDDF to EDDM and the experience was pretty close to flawless with FSLTL and Beyond ATC.

I'm going to add a few things:  I have tried everything from the upgraded Asobo prem deluxe version, To the Virtual FRA to the Aviotek free version.  This Aerosoft version is not perfect but is still the best even with the approach lighting flaws and two or 3 missing parking spots. I assume this will be fixed.  Aerosoft has been good about updates with EBBR and ENGM.  People are also complaining about colision boxes that make it so you can't go into the terminal,  Flightbeam did the same with MSP. I'm personally okay with this, as it still looks convincing from the outside.

I think developers needlessly spend months doing work that someone is going to go through with the drone camera one time then never again.  Yet, some how the new school simmers have decided that not fully modeling the entire inside of the terminal in detail is an affront to their 20 dollars. I like interior detail but I only care what it looks like from the cockpit.

I also personally believe that the performance is good.  I have to question the settings of the people saying they have bad performance.  I get 80-85 fps sitting at Gate A30 with FSLTL and GSX running.  I'd be lucky to get 60 at Inibuilds EGLL or LAX  in the same scenario.  I have a i7 13700 and 4080super.  But there are people with 7800s and 4090s complaining the perfomance is awful.  I suspect they are tying to get away with a TLOD and OLOD that is to high for the Frankfurt area.

how do you feel?

This comment summarizes it quite well…

“The scenery seems very rushed. There are also some MAJOR shortcuts being made like the lack of the proper approach lights (they are both in the wrong place, wrong size and the wrong color), some bridges are even missing as well sa the historic planes near the air bridge memorial. Hopefully they can fix all of this with updates.”

I find the performance decent, but I’ve got a very decent rig and using FG. In terms of how good the scenery is, it’s a step down from Flightbeam or Flytampa but definitely a step up from inibuilds. I’m happy - 8.5/10 for me.

I'm not seeing it in any photos or videos but is the Berlin Airlift Memorial in the scenery? I use to be stationed at Rhein-Main Air Base in the 80's before they closed it and turned it over to the civilian airport.

Yes.

I am not worried about the details and would buy the Aerosoft version, if it wasn't for the performance hit that the review addresses. My PC is not bad but was just upper middle class 3 years ago. Not sure it can handle EDDF.

On my 5900x/3090Ti/5120x1440/all ultra/FSR3 software frame generation/lots of FSLTL and multiplayer I get significantly better frame rates than on the stock deluxe Frankfurt as well as deluxe KLAX - never less than 45 fps.

It's by far the best performing of the really big airports for me, and absolutely among the very best concerning details and modelling.
BTW: The missing bridges mentioned above were all a part of the preview version and are fixed (rather: finished) in the release version.

In my humble opinion: It's a must have, and very, very good work by Aerosoft.

This is why I love this community so much. Ask a well-defined question, and you get the feedback to make a decision. I have bought EDDF from Aerosoft. I have not flown out yet, but with 256 AI Planes (AIG) loaded on Frankfurt and my high settings, I am getting 30-40 FPS parked. I need to do a takeoff and Landing to see how the approach looks from an FPS standpoint. I am happy with how it looks.

Bottom Line:  I appreciate all of your feedback.  Helped me make an informed decision.

I've just installed the Orbx freeware version and I have to say, I'm pretty happy with it

Is that the one included in the sim? That’s the one I use. Haven’t bought AS EDDF yet, still on the fence due to the mixed reviews. Love Jo Erlend’s ENGM though.
