September 20, 20241 yr It's all in the title of the topic. Finally a new version of YMML is coming to v5 and v6. ORBX also made an installer for global base for v6. A good start I think. Hope more will follow. Â ReinÂ

September 20, 20241 yr The global base installer for v6 is good news. Hopefully they'll make v6 installers for openLC as well. I couldn't find anything about this on the ORBX forums, however. What I did find were some posts about the new MSFS Trees and MSFS terrain mesh products, and what I found curious was that the developer is the son of Eugene Krikunov who was the lead developer for openLC. Now, some may remember that ORBX claimed that openLC development was stalled due to Eugene *and his family* being in a bad situation in a war-torn country. As far as I know, nothing has changed in that country, yet somehow development for MSFS continues. Mmmm.... Things like this are just one of several reasons why I don't trust ORBX and stopped buying their products several years ago. Dave I have no idea either, but there are strenuous efforts going on to defend their country and one possibility is that he has joined in that effort. I am sure that from the perspective that there is only one country in the world that matters, it is easy to pronounce judgement on those who live in the rest of the world. It is difficult to imagine how you could write a more inappropriate comment. I doubt that Orbx share your views, or that they matter to them at all.Â

I didn't pronounce judgement on anyone. I simply stated my opinion that ORBX wasn't being entirely honest about openLC development. It wouldn't be the first time that that outfit has been less than truthful. I couldn't care less what ORBX thinks about anything. OK, maybe just "niche".😉 I came across this article which discusses the Microsoft Flight Simulator Franchise since inception: https://levvvel.com/microsoft-flight-simulator-statistics/ It claims that MSFS sold 1 million copies as of 1 year ago. That's pretty good, but not on par with many other games, I'm sure. Minecraft sold 300 million copies, Grand Theft Auto 200 million, Wii Sports 83 million, Mario Kart 8 71 million, and Red Dead Redemption 65 million. It also bears considering that many of those 1 million are not "flightsimmers". They will play the game occasionally, and will play it as a game, not as a simulation.
