October 1, 20241 yr FSHud does appear to be the most complete package available now, and the performance and voice improvements in v2 make it even more appealing. Background chatter is just for flights without traffic for whatever reason. Not important. Progress have been very good though over the last couple of weeks. E.g. voice recogntition is already much better. It can be used with key binds as well, or fully automatic with co-pilot handling the comms. Perhaps it'll enter beta over the the next few weeks (but don't quote me on that). 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

At the moment, as others have said, it's in alpha, but the developer has indicated that it's expected to go to beta sometime in October. Note, however, that the caveat is still that new users should not buy FSHud at the moment simply to gain access to the V2 alpha. If you haven't used FSHud before you are recommended to stay with 1.3. Although the developer hasn't said this, I would expect the caveat to be removed once it is in open beta. V1.3 was in open beta for quite some time, and got roughly 1 update per week. I didn't get any show-stoppers with any of the V1.3 betas. Edited October 1, 20241 yr by ConstVoid Ian Box
October 1, 20241 yr I've lost faith in these ATC add-ons for MSFS 2020. I'm hoping that MSFS 2024 will be sim that finally brings us a much improved flight planner, ai traffic behavior, and atc integration. We as a community have waited & paid enough with time and money. MSFS

October 1, 20241 yr As Microsoft has their own AI engine, it would be great if FS2024 would be able to use it without requiring a subscription. Buy and integrate one of the leading ATC solutions and Bob's your uncle! MSFS 2024 new terrain with ground effects is revolutionary. It's going to look and feel amazing! If they can do what they have done with the terrain enhancements in MSFS 2024, I'm confident that they can do anything. They are already almost there right now. They just needed to focus more on the flight planner, AI Traffic, and ATC instead of giving us a bunch of world updates that enhanced the scenery, but not the core sim. FSHud V2.0 is a great add-on, but it's still not finished. If MSFS 2024 does not bring updates to the ATC & AI Traffic, there's at least FSHUd or BATC as options. MSFS

I think this is mainly said to prevent new users flooding the support channel with questions about the basic use of FSHud while the dev mainly wants questions about the alpha right now. Promoting new users to buy FSHud may make support a bit hard. Imho you can buy FSHud 1.3 perfectly fine if you want to give v2 a try but be prepared to work things out on your own and try to avoid asking basic questions. (EDIT You can of course ask anything here on AVSIM! 😉 ) 16 hours ago, CFIJose said: I'm hoping that MSFS 2024 will be sim that finally brings us a much improved flight planner, ai traffic behavior, and atc integration. It's confirmed that the initial release won't have what you are hoping for. It's been said that they will or might work on this later but... I wouldn't count in it too much. If you want better ATC in MSFS 2024 you will still have to look at the available addon options, at least for the first year or so. Edited October 2, 20241 yr by mistolip

You need to learn how to use FSHud (simple as it is once you know it) and since v2 isn't complete yet it may be harder to get into which may lead to new users asking irrelevant questions which makes testing the alpha more complicated for the dev. And it may lead to posts and 'reviews' online which will give a wrong and unfair view on FSHud. Edited October 4, 20241 yr by mistolip
October 4, 20241 yr It's kind of weird to me, the whole tactic. V2 blows version 1.3 out of the water, performance wise, ease of use, tablet connectivity, features, the works. I think he is being too tentative advising people not to use it if they are new. If I was new to FSHud, I would be FAR happier with going straight to V2 than to V 1.3. It isn't even a close comparison. V2 has brought back my love for flight simming pretty much singlehandedly. Just my two cents.
