Best ATC Add-One without AI traffic taken into account

On a crossroad between BATC and P2ATC. The former has better looking interface, but the latter has a zillion of various options to deal with.

Aren't you one of the developers of SI? Might want to add that as a disclaimer...

SayIntentions for me... I was able to do things exactly like I used to 20 years ago. Unreal to me how good it works

To everyone who is suggesting SI: the OP doesn't want to use his voice so... that leaves out SI.

I personally would advice FSHud over BATC because in FSHud you can actually disable traffic. I know the current 'official' version of BATC has no traffic at all but once it will get traffic I doubt if you will be able to disable it. Also (at this moment at least) BATC doesn't support overriding instructions: FSHud does this (all the way up to the parking spot you want). So I would find it hard to suggest BATC at this moment. FSHud has proven itself over the last few years and the current alpha of v2 (which I am testing right now) looks VERY promising.

I have to add I don't own P2ATC: I only know it's current version looks and feels outdated and imho has way too many options.

I do wonder though how any ATC addon will work with PSXT... I do think you are bound to run into problems every now and then (like AI using different runways). The advantage FSHud has here is that, as I said, you can override instructions and make things correspond with what PSXT is doing.

Well, not necessarily, he can have the co-pilot handle the coms for him if he dont want to talk…

You most certainly can disable traffic.

Not true, you can use the prompt to type your message. Not ideal, but it works

On the SI one with the voice prompt, I am giving you half points on that one. The text prompt isn't ideal, and I have been unable to get the Copilot to handle comms without using my voice. I'd say for folks who don't want to use their voice, SI isn't the best tool.

Lol .. me too.. I didn't even notice that requirement!

I just tried the fshud "silent test"... If you don't want to use your voice... That's the way to go.

Far far better experience than BATC... Same quality voices.. better instructions.. better traffic.. better map.. WAY better vectoring... no microtransactions.. it's a winner in my book.

I'm still sticking with SayIntentions... Far more advanced... But in your situation I say look into fshud.

I have a question about BATC.

I'm typically flying in historical time (for PSXT purposes), but with Real-Time (Live) weather. Let's say that on a approach BATC selects a runway as per current ATIS, but I need a runway as per historical movements. In such case, may I request a different runway from BATC?

Thank you.

I depends, I ran into an issue recently where the arrival runway had a direct crosswind.  PSXT/real-world was showing opposite runway to what BATC was issuing and when I requested the opposing runway it denied the request.  If it is something like you want to request 01C instead of 01R, it would likely approve that.

Very sad. I like BATC interface and its very clear user-friendly flows based on YT videos. Looks like I would also need Active Sky to match PSXT historical movements. OR BATC extract ATIS/weather from real-time only?

It gets the ATIS info externally so you need to use Live WX for it to match.  It cannot pull any historical WX info from Active Sky. Not sure if that is something they will implement down the road...

Having tried most of them except FSHUD, if you fly both IFR and VFR I would recommend you to try Sayintentions.

If you only fly IFR I would go with BATC. Does the job right and voices IMHO are miles ahead of Sayintentions or anything available on the market.
Sayintentions besides all the marketing they put out,  seems to have an average of 10/15 voices most of the time, and only a couple of those sound actually good.  They are mostly focused on features like a cabin crew and tour guide than voice quality/variety and accents.

If you dont care about voices then Pilot2ATC or PF3.

Been flying BATC the last two days, after weeks away. Looks like it is working fairly well except for the fact that every Star turns into a visual approach. The vectors used to be terrible, but lately not too bad, I just ignore the turn from downwind to base, for about 5 miles, and then it usually works out.
