Look I'm tired of the gaslighting and word play after 4 years. You know word not allowed well what I meant in the context of the topic. Blocked because I don't have the energy any more.

To be clear...I really don't think Seb was saying, "We don't simulate hail because that would be dangerous." This is the problem with spoken word; people make sort of off-the-cuff remarks, or commenta

I remember when watching this I interpreted it as a joke. A nerdy joke perhaps, but nevertheless a joke 🙂 I found it funny.

After the hail, perhaps asobo could give us floods.  That would be fun to try to predict and program 😀

Nevermind the floods, what about the pestilence?😄

You joined this forum to carry on moaning about the official forum.

Not getting the sympathy you feel you deserve?

Now you’re blocking people because you ‘don’t have energy anymore’?

Fantastic….

I always roll my eyes when people feel the need to tell that they are now blocking someone. It's petulant.

I just do it and don't announce it to the person affected.

I have exactly 1 ignored user on my list. So yeah, I use that option very sparingly.

It's MSFS 2024 on Avsim. Every single altered bit from MSFS 2020 needs it's own thread.

Having been a member of more than a few dying forums which were fading out because members decided they needed to police whether or not people could start new conversations, I'll just ask why we care if there's a new thread? It's not taking up space on our hard drives or costing us money, and Avsim would be pretty easy to keep up with even if the thread creation rate doubled.

Let people talk. It's a discussion forum. That's what it's here for.

I don’t see any gaslighting in his statement. You are asking for improved atmospheric conditions” and he merely said “we are getting those in 2024”. That is based on the developers’ statements and a recent video about weather released by MS/Asobo. It’s not a case that Asobo is completely ignoring anything to do with weather.

Why would you categorize Tuskin’s simple statement as “gaslighting” and “abuse”?

How much improvement there will actually be remains to be seen, but based on what the developers have said it includes:

Increased cloud thickness.

Increased cloud layers.

A reworked lighting engine that affects how clouds are illuminated, internally and externally.

More accurate depiction of fog layers and low surface visibility.

Application of CFD to the movement of air in the atmosphere, leading to improved turbulence - including more realistic emulation of updrafts and downdrafts in things like thunderstorms.

Reworked/improved generation and depiction of cirrus clouds.

We won’t know how significant any of these improvements will be until the new sim releases.

Due to circumstances beyond the control of all those who would wish it not so, msfs 2020 and 2024 have to share the same forum. Those of us who are content with msfs 2020 and will not be buying yet another sim (I currently use 3 regularly lol) and enjoyed browsing topics relevant to the sim we use (right now, not months in the future) are now being disenfranchised by sheer weight of numbers from the unreleased future sim.
